Until September by Chris Scully

27832129

I have a hate love hate love relationship with two MCs, especially Archie/Archer with his whoring attitude. But I kept telling myself , that's him, and there's 'no relationship' between the two men. Hell, they didn't have any relationship until near the end.
Both were busy with their denials (which I hate so much).
But at least there are kids that keeps them stay put together, at least until September.
The feeling? It's an on/off relationship. And that irritated the shit out of me, seriously.

Then after Archer came to his senses, here comes Ryan who doubted it and reconsidered to revisit his old relationship with his ex. Again. This pissed me off.

I keep debating myself to put down the book, but these kids...sigh...They're so adorable, I can't see them not happy after what they had been through. They 'need' Archie and Ryan as family.
I'm so glad Archie (the former player), asked Ryan to stay and decided to choose his life with the kids and Ryan.
I'm glad I can finally finished it, and liking it. Archie is definitely redeemable, and Ryan, Ryan is actually the sweetest 'Mr.Commitment' Archie can find.
From a person who's mocking a gay committed/marriage relationship, Archie proved that he's not that 'bad'. He's brave enough to admit that people can choose whatever they want in their life, especially gay people. To have family and children.

The Epilogue is somehow, the best of this book. And I can see that Archie, Ryan, Emma and Dillon will finally have their HEA.

Recommended read.

*** 5 'SEMPRE E PER SEMPRE' STARS***

Reading Semper Fi was like coming home and falling in love all over again. Being inside Sebastian Hunter helped me much of understanding him, his demons, his sadness, his anger, and his true feeling about Caro all the years they separated .
And I'm falling for him all over again, just like Caro did.
And besides, who can resist that bad boy charm inside of him?
Definitely not Caro, and not me.
I can see so many of you would agree with me.

It's retelling , but doesn't feels like a retelling. What's in Hunter's head is totally different from Caro's. And I know why did I love him from the beginning. Actually, Sebastian Hunter is genuine, naive and so like an open book. He is what he is.
His love for Caro, is one of the best love I have ever read in a book.
It's pure and unconditional. Age gap, people?

Over all, this is a worth waiting for, worth re-reading all over again. And like I said earlier, worth to falling in love all over again.
Well done Jane !

Stranded by HelenKay Dimon

26143084

bookshelves: mm, netgalley, arc, misunderstanding

Read on November 01, 2015

This was like I'm stranded in a condition I cannot understand, just like Brax and Cabe.
I found myself suddenly in the middle of two ex-lover's quarrel, in a cabin from nowhere.
And there's shooting and strange conversation about conspiracy.
I was kinda dizzy, reading this story.
Expected a a little romantic escape from two enemies, Brax and Cade gave me headache from the start.LOL! My bad.
Okay, we have this two alphas 'romantic' moments in the middle of their fear about being killed, they called it burning up the energy. It was actually hot :)
Yeah okay.
I was easily bored. There's no strong chemistry between Cabe and Brax, except the sex of course.
It was just an okay read for me.Maybe a little bit of background explanation will make me understand more about this guys.

I found out that this novella is the author's first MM, so, I didn't expected much.

“I still should have fought.”
“But instead I played the canary, singing for whoever owned my damn cage.”

My favorite author and his finesse. Historical. War.

It's been too long I haven't read a soulful story and almost forgot the feeling of a real good writing, a real great story, since I read Soldiers by the same author.
I read this blind, because I think I'm one of Aleksandr Voinov's first reader for this book.
I'm so happy I have a privilege reading this gem earlier than anyone else.

As usual, Aleks makes this story 'real' and believable. Oh come on, Nazi soldiers as a hero? How odd?
But then, after you read this book and finally get to know Oberst Heinrich von Starck and Falk Harfner, both are a big fans of Yves Lacroix, a club singer, you'll say...Ahh, Nazi also humans...surprise !
They can love, they can make mistakes, they can on the knees and crazy about one little french singer.

The tense of war, the vibes of a scary nights, the anxious, felt so strong in this story.
That's why Aleks never claimed this as a romance.
It's a historical fiction, with a little taste of love story.
Don't expect a romantic faithful love story from a slutty French singer with that two Germans. Yves face reality, that he can't choose between the two men. Both are having a very important rules in Yves life.
I can't dislike Heinrich, he's even a romantic guy for Yves. For an Oberst, he's kind of 'soft'. He really care about Yves and his safety.
But then, there's Falk, an ordinary soldier with no power who came into Yves life even before he met Heinrich.
And Yves is really stuck in between.

But war, have no mercy for lovers...I cried the day Yves cried for the first time since forever. It was so heartbreaking, and I can't complain, because 'it's war', right?

I'm glad the gloomy of war and my broken hear healed. Yes, Yves had his HEA after all. And I'm a happy girl !

Note from author : For the record, Nightingale is NOT a Romance or m/m Romance. It's a gay historical novel. It was never intended as a Romance. It's not listed on Amazon as a Romance. The cover is not branded for Romance.

BR with Rosalinda., going to BR 'again' with Funzee on weekend.
I just can't move on. This is one of Aleks 'Best Work' , and I'm glad I can be one of the VIP readers.

Keep writing Aleks ! Thank you for a wonderful story !

Winter Oranges by Marie Sexton

26117781
Winter Oranges was a perfect story to start this month.
It was lovely, sweet, a little sad.

This is why love reading romance, fairy tales, fiction, 'anything' could happen, and it's still beautiful.
Use your imagination, and you'll be in a small wonderful world of Ben and Jason.
I think this one is easily become one of my Marie Sexton favorite book after "One More Soldier" that ripped my heart into pieces.

This one though, as sweet as winter oranges, with a little bit of cherry and chocolate chip biscuit as companion.
I like Dylan and Jason's friendship. And I liked it even more when Ben and Jason, liked it or not , they're owed Dylan their life (But shhh, don't tell him that!) :)

Winter Oranges is a perfect read for a Holiday season to come, go curl up in your nice sofa, a cup of coffee, and a story of Ben and Jason, and also Dylan.
It's just , perfect.
Highly recommended!

Alasdair (Masters Among Monsters, #1) by Ella Frank

25866430
Friendly warning : this book contains M/M, M/M/M, M/F, F/F, this is not a pure romance.
If this kind of story is not your liking, please DO NOT read this one.

"Things you cannot imagine,
I can give it to you..."

*** ELLA "FREAKIN' DEVIL" FRANK!***

This book is SERIOUSLY DIFFERENT from Ella's other books.
I thought I will see the different kind of Tate and Logan, but alas! It's NOT!
I never thought the day that I see myself saying, three is not a crowd !
Ella Frank, woman ! You did something very very very dirty, raunchy and naughty. You're a BAD,BAD girl!

This is book you wouldn't mind reading sex with audience, sex with stranger, and never feel the sexes are overwhelmed and took off the main story.
The mystery is awesome, the writing is great, with a fast patch, I cannot put down.

This is a very different experience for me with Ella's books.
Alasdair, Leonidas and even Vasilios are sexy as fuck ! Did I mind? Nope.Nope.Nope.

The ending was like...OMG! I want that to happen! ...or not.
No matter what, anything is very welcome here Ella!

Love the story !
You hurry up girl ! Let the rest of the series out! NOW!

Recommended!

The Stolen Mackenzie Bride (MacKenzies & McBrides #8) by Jennifer Ashley

23623210

*** 5 SEXY MACKENZIE STARS! ***

We're travel back in time...the first Duke of Kilmorgan who brought back a clan home after a war.
I remember only a little about "Old Malcolm", this is Young Malcom's story, in a much wilder and darker story before the 'modern' Mackenzies.

This is dark, heart breaking, and I found myself crying over the Mackenzies brothers and their bravery to keep their lands from England.
I dunno much about England and Scotland's war, but this is an eye opener. I like history, and I really enjoyed reading this.
Even this one is darker, Mal's story is awesome. And we know know where's the Mackenzies got their braveness from.

It's ALWAYS official to me that the Mackenzie are the hottest Highlanders. EVER!

Jennifer Ashley nailed it again !

***5 'HAIL MARKET GARDEN BOYS' STARS ! ***

IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT HOLY.

HOLY MOTHER OF SIN!

IF I’M GOING TO HELL BECAUSE OF THIS, I’M SO DEFINITELY WILL DRAG Aleksandr Voinov and L.A. Witt’S CUTE ARSE FOR THIS !
I MADE NO MISTAKES WHEN I CHOSE THEM AS TWO OF MY FAVORITE AUTHORS.

When they’re writing ‘clean romance’, it’s obviously clean. When they’re writing sins(Yeah, you heard me!), they write SINS. IN CAPITAL. And I freakin’ loved it.
The combination of Blake,Jason and some *additional player* will leave you hot and bothered.
Just keep you AC on and read it ALONE. Because, these will happen to you!

GOT THE HINTS? *SMIRK*

Market Garden is one of EPIC series I have ever read, and loved, and obsessed about. Blake Raleigh (Phew! Glad Rolex is finally has a name), is one of my favorite perverted, voyeur, hottest patron in the world of sinners.
And the combination of Blake and Jason (the most expensive prostitute in Market Garden), was LETHAL. And Jason is definitely WORTH every penny Blake spent. And I’m telling, when I said Jason is ‘expensive’ , he’s REALLY is expensive. [(A bargain between pile of cash and Audi with triple it and Blake’s name to win him, not cheap at all, my friend, not cheap at all) (hide spoiler)]

Intermezzo (True Story) : When I finished this book , I went to shower (of course…eye rolling), and I put some shampoo on my hand, and I shampooed MY BODY, not my hair! I didn’t concentrate of washing my hair FFS! I was still thinking of THEM. Damn. (Don’t laugh. You’ll be in my position later. Seriously)
Somehow, I found this one is very classy 

Prince Charming may have been able to awaken Sleeping Beauty, but Jason’s kiss could bring a half-dead businessman
into the correct time zone, wake him up, and give him a hard-on. Disney, eat your heart out.

Just imagine, if his kiss taste ‘like that’, no wonder Jason had become Blake’s new religion. Ha !
This book should come with warning, it’s a total E-burning and you can not read it in public or with people’s around you and prepare a cold shower after. Remember , shampoo is for your hair, not to wash your body (facepalm me).

Five stars for for the whole series, and this one I was easily became my favorite.
The ending was HFN , but it was reasonable, and I think somehow, Blake and Jason will work it out soon after this. Burn so many bridge and all.
Recommended it highly!
Read this in reading order, to get to know who’s Blake as Rolex before Jason. You won’t regret it. Aleks and Lori wrote it’s best in this series.

I was skeptical when I read this story. I'm not really into a Christian Romance. And reading some reviews, there's no sex, it's clean romance, which I rarely liked. But, hey, we don't need sex if the story was 'that good', right.
But this is L.A. Witt writing as Ann GallagherAnn Gallagher. So I give it a try.
Right from the start, I'm hooked!

I loved Colton and Isaac's chemistry. They're definitely made for each other.
One homophobic and one with a tortured trauma, it was a hard composition, made they made it !
I really loved Pastor Mike and Ruth. Best part of Colton and Isaac relationship ! And there were Chris and Julien from No Distance Left to Run , oh how I missed the guys.

Colton stole my heart with what he had been though, with the trauma and shitty parents. You know, parents who wanted to 'CURE' their son's homosexuality, blah lah blah !

"“I’ve found a therapist in town who specializes in curing homosexuals,” his father had declared. “He’ll fix—”
“That’s the part you want to fix?” Colton had asked coldly. “I’ve been raped, pimped, homeless, and hooked on things you’ve probably never even heard of, but priority one is getting the gay out of me?”

And the struggling Isaac with his 'unknown sexuality', that made his ex wife run away and Ruth tried to open his eyes about that. The feeling inside, the fight with his inner self, that's a hard battle for sure. Not very easy to accept who you really are, unless, something hit you on the head and makes you 'wake up'!

"“Colton, wait.”
Against his better judgment, Colton turned around.
Isaac spoke just loud enough for him to hear: “I’m sorry.”
“Not as sorry as I am.”
Colton thanked God for his pounding heart. At least that drowned out the rest of Isaac’s pleas long enough for him to get inside and let the big steel door slam behind him.

And there are some sweet moments that made me hold my breath, especially the first kiss.
Oh.My.God.
Isaac and Colton's first kiss was THE.BEST.EPIC.FIRST.KISS.EVER.!

"“Because the first step toward healing is knowing the truth. And for some people, the next step is knowing your apology was heard by the heart it was intended for.”"

I hope I can write a proper review for this one. But the problem with books I loved, is always, writing a review.
This one is a must read. Highly recommended !

Review : Silver & Black by Tyler May

*** 2 Stars***

What did I think?

What did I think?

What did I think?

Hmmmm....

You want honest? Okay. I enjoyed the 50% of this book, even I recalled some 'similarities' with 'that one famous book' and some books after that. And the next was just felt flat.
Here's my list...

Billionaire
Stalking
Research
Contract
Penthouse
New smartphone
And the texting
”What you do to me?” (remember this?)
…all of “He’s a good man” thing ;)
Quotes :
“I’m a complicated man, Mr. Black, and I’m very selfish. So when you agree to want me. I expect it only to be me.” Whoa, this just changed directions.
“I have specific tastes and I don’t date often. It took a while to find you and I want you. All of you.”

Didn't it reminds you of a very famous quotes... "My taste is very singular, Miss Steele"... (?)

Oh, well.Ring any bells, guys?

I dunno, maybe it's just the pattern? Or, I'm just being a nagging reader? Point my nose, blame me!
I found myself put it on hold a few time, because I was kinda tired. I was bored.
And I'm cranky when I'm bored.

And, to be perfectly frank, I don't think we need book 2 in the future.
The 'twist' at 90%, was just Mr.Silver being 'not very communicative' to Mr.Black.
Worth my time? Not so much.

The back cover of paperback "reminds me" of this.I hope it's just coincidence.

*** 5 stars!***

Guys, this is what I need in my MM books, the great chemistry between heroes, enough portion of angst (not over the top), flawed heroes, good family, pets, great friendship, and grannies!!!
So far this one is my favorite of the series, Felice Stevensnailed it this time. I was really glad I finally read this one, and I'm re-reading it now! So worth my precious time!

Micah and Joshua are so adorable together. And I loved how patience Josh to Micah, even Micah hurt his feeling a few times (and I really wanted to slap Micah's head at the time), guess Josh is just the right man for Micah.
i loved Micah with his flawed behavior, the jealousy and his love for Lucky, the dog. It's kinda funny, actually, when they had a fight, and Micah told Josh that he'll keep Josh because he can't live without Lucky! Awwwww..... These guys are really made for each other.

I love the Grannies! OMG! Ethel and all her bossy attitude, won my heart. And Alex....I know there's something he's hiding. I hope Felice would give him his own story. With Rafe, maybe? *wink*

Oh, and the sex was.... a panty wet worthy! Hot and sexy!

This is about friendship, love, acceptance, finding your true passion, family. This one is just... Complete!

I finished the book with a smile on my face, and still can't stop thinking about it. Beautiful!
I want to read more of this kind of story from Felice and my favorite authors.

Highly recommended!
