ARC REVIEW : Contour (Shape of You #1) by Meg Harding

37660611

Jamie “Roxy” Albright has one great love in his life and room for no other. He lives and breathes makeup. Men are nothing more than temporary distractions and romance… well, that isn’t worth his time. With a burgeoning career as a YouTube makeup artist opening doors to never before dreamed of opportunities, time isn’t something Jamie has and distractions aren’t something he can afford.

Instagram model and shirtless wonder Tyler Jackson is quickly falling for elusive Jamie. How it went from a seemingly innocent message to feelings, he’ll never know. Their chemistry is instant and fiery hot, and Tyler’s never been that good at self control. The challenges are endless, though. There’s Jamie’s walls to break through and a country worth of space between them. And just when things are starting to look up, life throws a wrench in the works.

  ContourContour by Meg Harding
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a 'nowaday' story of two Instagram celebrities, between Tyler and Jamie. Two inta-celeb reminds me a lot of these guys... JOey and Danny boy. Le sigh.

This is a light adorable everyday story, very low angst, just the usual when two people falling in love and have to manage the long distance relationship.
Jamie never had a real relationship, never slept twice with one guy, and when he met Tyler, it's something like ' a shock culture' for Jamie, a whole new dimension of human relationship.
He tried though, because, man...Tyler is a dream come true.
And the most important thing, he adored Jamie with or without his make-up!
Never questioned Jamie's choices, he's just adored Jamie. Awww...
I loved the banters between them, especially the messages, it was funny, witty and very fresh.
My only complain is the making of make-up tutorial vlog, it felt too long (blame me, I don't wear make-up.LOL).
Overall, this is fun to read and enjoyable. I liked it.

RELEASE BLITZ AND ARC REVIEW : Power Play by Cara Dee

Power Play

Special Pre-order Price: $2.99

I was my own worst enemy. For as much as I depended on order and a structured life to easier manage my bipolar disorder, fire was irresistible and indisputably my favorite toy to play with. On the ice, it turned me into a hotheaded hockey player. In the bedroom, my attitude was my last defense, a front I wanted to see tumbling down. But lately, all I got was burned.

Love sucked. Correction: it sucked when you were in love with your parents’ closest friend and he didn’t feel the same. I admitted my feelings for Madigan Monroe over a year ago, and I was still waiting for a response. Now my balance was gone. My anxiety was all over the place, my fits of rage had just earned me a suspension from the team, I questioned myself at every turn, and being home for two weeks was gonna make it impossible to avoid Madigan.

I used to be his Abel, his sweetheart, his trouble. It’d been the two of us against the world since I was a kid. I’d even discovered we had kink in common! On paper, I was seemingly perfect for him. Maybe that was why his nonverbal rejection hurt so much. Or maybe it was because, recently, he seemed hell-bent on us “being friends” again.

Whatever. I was a loser, and I couldn’t resist him for crap.

Power Play

Power Play by Cara Dee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“I wasted two years believing my feelings for you were wrong—until you and your bravery knocked sense into me.”

Whooah, I didn't see it coming!

If there's anything to blame, blame Nutella. How could a six year old boy say no to Nutella, from his Daddy's best friend? Not a chance. I know Mad sounds like a pervert pedo at the time, but no.

No worries, he didn't 'interested in Abel' 'that way', not until at least after Abel nineteen.

But Abel knew he wanted to marry his Mad when he's twelve.

This is a BDSM daddy kink at his best, if you're not into this kind of book, consider this as a warning.
Mad is a type of Daddy Dom, he likes his Little obey him, and he wanted Abel.
Problem is, Abel is also his late best friend's son, that he knew since Abel was six year old boy.
One night Abel's 19th birthday party, his restraining came to loose, and even Abel was his whole world and he love Abel beyond reason, he need to stay away from Abel.
Which left Abel heart broken and felt abandoned.
Abel found his comfort with his best friend, Gray. Best friend and a bed fellow, that is.
But they'd never 'more', besides, they're both bottom, and not interested in romantic relationship.
But of course, love will fond the way, and at some point, they're reconnected again, and Abel is full aware for what kind of life he'll be going through with Mad by his side.
Life is about choices, and Abel chose Mad with all his 'preferences'. And he's never been happier.

I couldn't speak. My throat had closed up. All I could do was nod jerkily and press myself harder to his body.
He was warm and all comfort and protection.
This was my home.

Where's Gray left then?
This is the part that for some people (also me), would cringe, because there's a kink in a kink.
Mad and Abel never playing half hearted when it comes to their kink -> (view spoiler)

“I don’t think I can go back to pretending even if I tried. I’ll be your personal stalker until it hits me that this isn’t a dream.”

This is definitely NOT my drug of choice of books I read usually, but I found that I cannot put this book down, and glued to it until I finished it.

I can’t sleep…

When unrequited love leaves Dylan Hart sleepless and nursing his wounds, instinct draws him to the one place he's found mindless respite in the past—Lovato’s. It’s a place for every fantasy — for crazy-hot encounters — where a night of insane NSA sex brings relief to Dylan’s fragile feelings.

It should be a perfect escape, and for one magical night it seems that way, but then worlds collide, and reality bites when his hookup desperately needs a friend. Surely Dylan can’t trust his instincts when friendship has bruised his heart so badly before?

It’s burying me alive…

The deck is stacked against former ballet dancer Angelo Giordano ever finding real love. At least visiting Lovato’s offers respite from a life defined by illness; a glimmer of light in the dull grey of his so-called life without dance. But then he encounters Dylan — a glorious ray of the brightest sunshine — who makes his heart pound once more with purpose.

Angelo’s mind is blown by this man, but the disease that ended his career won’t let him bask in new love. He’s drowning, and Dylan can’t save him while insecurities swamp them both. The only way to make it means confronting their demons.

If Dylan can turn his back on the past, and Angelo can face his uncertain future, maybe they can chase their dreams together.

Dream (Skins, #1)Dream by Garrett Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A heartbreaking story with a dirty filthy boys that only Garrett Leigh can do.
I adored Angelo and Dylan's life journey as much as I enjoyed their sexapade😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥

As Garrett said, this is a filthy book. Oh yeah, when Garret's being naughty, it's naughty to the max!
Met in a sex club a first time, nothing we can expect more that some kink, exhibitionism, and some more dirty. Dylan and Angelo are dirty, dirty boys. I didn't mind at all!
There's some soft BDSM, just a little D/s play, no blood shed whatsoever, I'm so okay with that.
Angelo and Dylan 'need' each other, they need to be someone else in that club.

They're still working on their dreams, not easy for both of them living and moving on with the baggage, but they made it eventually.
Dylan with his much needed moving on from his past love, and Angelo with his broken family business.
The sex is hot, sweaty, dirty and panty melt worthy, I promised you that.

Garrett Leigh fans NEED this book!

Trigger warning : If, you're not into sex club, kink, threesome, orgy, you better avoid this book.

REVIEW : Table for One by Connie Bailey

36611339

Exposing his body for work is no problem, but after his heart’s been broken, putting it out there again won’t be so easy.

Up-and-coming young executives Copeland Shore and William Donnelly have been friends and sometimes more for years. For Cope’s birthday, Will plans a very special dinner—at a nantaimori restaurant where the most enticing thing is the table. Dai—the naked man beneath their sushi—has both their mouths watering, but when it comes to Dai’s heart, there’s only room at the table for one, and Will gets there first.

Will’s everything Dai thinks he wants in a man… until he’s betrayed. The betrayal also ends the friendship between Will and Cope and leaves Dai shaken and unsure if he can put his trust in another man—not even when a second chance for love and happiness rises from the ashes of the broken relationship. Cope wants to tempt Dai to take a risk with him, but the pain of the past is hard for Dai to shake off… and Cope has obstacles of his own to overcome.

Table for OneTable for One by Connie Bailey
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

It's hard to like this book except for the gorgeous cover.
Everyone's stupid. Dai is stupid for assuming that Will is the the one he's looking for, Cope is stupid for trying to play mysterious, Will is an asshole the whole time. The only one I can stand is Harow, Dai's BFF. He's okay, better than anyone even.
And there's Brad, a guy between Will and Cope. It's actually Dai's sex marathon experience.
And it's boring.
I did some skimming through the last 50 percent mark and I didn't care if Cope and Dai got their HEA. It was a HFN, I'm not sure about their future though.
Sorry.

REVIEW : Prelude to Love by Anne Barwell

36603676

Music speaks directly to the heart.

Two very different men face turning points in their lives after the collapse of long-term relationships….

Joel is a music teacher who knows it’s time to forget his ex and move on, while Marcus runs a lawn-mowing business and has come to Wellington to escape the reminders of a recent breakup. Although they’re opposites, when Joel and Marcus connect, their romance has the potential to hit all the right notes.

Too bad neither of them feels ready for new love.

With family and friends in common, dating is risky—things could get messy if it doesn’t work out. The sweet song of possibility draws them to each other, though, and they share a kiss following a Chopin prelude. But it will take some practice and perseverance to find their perfect harmony….

Prelude to LovePrelude to Love by Anne Barwell
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Moving on was never easy for both Marcus and Joel. But they needed it.
After some bad relationships in the past, it's quite hard to believe that they'll find a true love.
Both were so stubborn to admit their feeling to each other if not for Darin, Elle and Isabel playing matchmakers. Aah...family, sometimes we do need them, huh?
I liked the idea of the story, I liked the chemistry between Marcus and Joel. The music background for the story gave the story a soul.

This is a clean romance, the sex is definitely fade to black which is a little disappointing :P
There's jealousy and also family's story that needed to fix. Also Marcus needed to make sure that he's all for Joel and stopped his ex from coming on to him. Joel's problem with his Dad was quite believable and real, not overly dramatic as some of the books I read about family drama.
I liked the epilogue. Overall, this is enjoyable read and fun. Marcus and Joel are adorable together, and Marcus is definitely a keeper!

REVIEW : Daddy Needs a Date by Sean Michael

36611359

With four girls, single dad Ryan Withers has his hands too full to look for romance. He’s not complaining—he loves his daughter and the three nieces he adopted when their parents died, and he would do anything for them. He’s caught off guard when his mother and daughter decide to play matchmaker.

Alex Bernot works in disaster relief, his job taking him all over the world, helping others, for extended periods of time. He’s staying with his aunt while he’s home, and she sets him up on a blind date. Finding a special someone isn’t really on his mind, but he goes to make his aunt happy.

Ryan and Alex enjoy each other’s company more than either of them expected, and they soon make a second date. Their lives are complicated, though, in very different ways, and soon family needs and their jobs conspire to pull them apart. They’ll need to figure out how to work through the things keeping them apart, but first they’ll have to decide if they even want to….

Daddy Needs a DateDaddy Needs a Date by Sean Michael
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Adorable family story finding a busy Daddy with four daughters a date, or someone he can count on to share his busy life with him. Not easy.
You need one determined daughter and mother to make it happen.
Good thing Ryan listened to his Mom and his daughter, being a good man he is. And Alex is one rare thing that happened in his life.
Some doubt about the relationship would be continued or not, fogging in the air in Ryan's house, especially with the kids. But Alex wanted to try, he's falling for Ryan and the kids easily.
So decision has to be made, traveling all the time is hard especially if he wanted to keep Ryan and the kids love him.
Well, the youngest Rosie once mad at him for went away for too long. That's cute.
Though this book is full of daily activity, it's interesting witnessing how Alex mingled with Ryan's children.
This one is a light, low angst read, and fun with children in the picture. Not too memorable, but it's a okay for me.

REVIEW : The Hockey Player's Heart (Hockey Hearts #1) by Jeff Adams (Goodreads Author), Will Knauss

36902263

When hockey star Caleb Carter returns to his hometown to recover from an injury, the only thing he’s interested in is a little R & R. He never expects to run into his onetime crush at a grade school fund-raiser . Seeing Aaron Price hits him hard, like being checked into the boards. The attraction is still there, even after all these years, and Caleb decides to make a play for the schoolteacher. You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take, right?

Aaron has been burned by love before and can’t imagine what a celebrity like Caleb could possibly see in a guy like him. Their differences are just too great. But as Aaron spends more time with Caleb, he begins to wonder if he might have what it takes to win the hockey player’s heart.

The Hockey Player's Heart (Hockey Hearts, #1)The Hockey Player's Heart by Jeff Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I never watched Hockey in my entire life except from TV, also not a hockey fans, I'm more into diving and swimming. That's why I have a very little books with hockey on my reading list.
But somehow, this one worked just fine for me. This was fun, enjoyable, light and heartwarming.
Especially when an old love (crush) involved.
It was really fun witnessing two guys reconnecting, trying to adjust their life together, matching their two different worlds to make it work for them.
I really liked Caleb, he's the sweetest, most adorable jock in the history, while I didn't blame Aaron for his doubt if he can fit in Caleb's celebrity status.
That's where Caleb stole my heart easily. The guy is a dream come true!
This is a really enjoyable story, but you need to have a little extra patience with Aaron, he's having an insecurity issue, but worry not, Caleb has his own way to make Aaron realized how much Caleb loved him and how much Aaron meant to him.
And the ending was an aww...moment, you'll love it!

ARC REVIEW : A VIKING FOR YULE BY Jamie Fessenden

36689276

BLURB

AFTER SAM'S GRANDFATHER nearly died in a blizzard one year ago, Sam has panic attacks in snow storms. So where does his friend Jackie propose they spend the holidays, as the last stop on their trip around the world?

Iceland. Of course.

But there's more in Iceland than snow. When Arnar, a handsome Icelandic man, offers to escort Sam on a several-day tour of the beautiful countryside, they soon find themselves drawn to each other. But Arnar is firmly rooted in his native soil, and Sam has to return to the US in a week to care for his ailing grandfather.

Suddenly, yule can’t last nearly long enough.

NOTE: Though this novel includes characters from "A Cop for Christmas," it is a standalone adventure. It isn’t necessary to read "A Cop for Christmas" first.

REVIEW

A Viking for YuleA Viking for Yule by Jamie Fessenden
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Looking for a new adventure and finding a new love, was never really Sam's intention. But Arnar is really attractive with his viking like appearance. So yeah, he's kinda hard to resist.
This is a light fun story to read, holiday and all. I really liked Arnar, he's very sweet and and adorable.
I liked the dynamic between the two boys and the development of their relationships was enjoyable. I didn't read the first book, but you can surely read this one is a stand alone.
But I didn't find any gripping feeling when I read the book I 'really liked'. This one was an okay read, not too memorable, but if you like a sweet holiday story with a great epilogue, read this book.

ARC REVIEW : The Right Way (The Way Home #3) by May Archer

37911459

A brilliant, obsessive mind is the heart of Sebastian Seaver’s genius. It might also be the thing that costs him everything he’s created and everyone he’s ever loved. Consumed with the need to destroy Alexei Stornovich, the Russian mob boss who murdered his fiancé and parents, nothing can turn Bas from his plans of revenge until he’s eradicated every last one of them. By any means necessary, and at any cost.

Drew McMann learned early that the key to success is control. Control carried him through law school and helped him keep Seaver Tech together through tragedy. It helped him survive the brutal murder of his sister Amy, his parents’ divorce, and the revelation that the seeds of their destruction had been planted by someone he had considered family. It’s how he’s hidden his love from his best friend Bas for more than half their lives. And now it’s how he’s going save Bas from himself and finally get his family of friends free from Alexei’s clutches. Drew has a plan for everything… Until the kiss.

When Drew loses control one reckless, drunken evening and his true feelings for Bas are revealed, he tries desperately to contain the damage and keep their friendship on track, even as decades of lies and half-truths seek to tear them apart. With Alexei targeting them and their friends, Drew and Bas are forced to rely on each other more than ever. But as danger closes in on them, can they sacrifice their needs for logic and control, and recognize that the only RIGHT way to move forward is the one in which they’re together?

The Right Way (The Way Home #3)The Right Way by May Archer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I knew it! That there's something 'burning' inside my Bas and Drew!
Two of my favorite names , one book, a long time hidden love and a long time frustration of loving someone without he's knowing it.
Gosh, my poor Drew.
I enjoyed Bas and Drew's earlier relationship, I was kinda wanted to yell at Sebastian, 'Oh, come on Bas, look at him! He loves you!'
Sometimes, 'labels' makes people cannot see what they're seeing in front of them, and Bas is no exception. He didn't 'see' Drew, he didn't see how much he cannot live without Drew beside him. He loves Drew, but 'he's straight, right?.
Denial? Probably.
But I'm glad Sebastian had finally realized that 'his love for Drew' is not a brotherhood or friendship love.
It's love, 'love'. Pure and simple. And he embraced it. This is the kind of love that will last forever.

I enjoyed Drew and Bas so much, complete with their 'adventure', and the cameos!
Bas and Drew are sexy together. So far, they're easily become my favorite couple of this series.
I recommend to read this book in order, to get to know about Cam, Cort, Damon and Cain.

ARC REVIEW : His Kind of Love by Kate Hawthorne

37850663

Joel Reading was lonely.

Nineteen years old, estranged from his family and seemingly unable to ever get a second date, he's surrounded himself with the things he loved most: old books and old music.

When one date got out of hand before it even began, Joel found himself displaced from a flooded apartment and on the doorstep of a handsome and older stranger, more than willing to take Joel in for the night.

Gabriel Hunter had waited years for the right man.

When a distressed Joel showed up at his door needing a place to stay, it was more perfect than Gabriel could ever have hoped for. He quickly found himself falling for the complex and beautiful boy he welcomed into his house, and started to believe in a future with the young man he adoringly called, Little Red.

Unfortunately, Gabriel was a man of many secrets, and they threatened to unravel the delicate relationship he was building with Joel.

Would Joel be able to see beyond Gabriel's deliberate omissions and give their love a chance, or would Gabriel's kind of love prove to be more than Joel could handle?

His Kind of LoveHis Kind of Love by Kate Hawthorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

* 3,5 stars.*

A modern day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.

Interesting, a little creepy and I kept picturing Gabriel as the Big Bad Wolf himself, wanted to yell at Joel all the time, "Run...run, Little Red!"

This is definitely not my everyday reads. But soon as I read the early chapters, I'm started thinking about Big Bad Wold and Little Red Riding Hood. Well, Gabriel really did called Joel 'Little Red'. So yeah, the guy is kinda hypnotic, I started to think like him as well. LOL.
Gabriel is a creepy stalker, I mean 'he is a real stalker' that followed every step, every move, he put camera everywhere in Joel's apartment, work place and then his 'temporary room' in Gabriel's room.
Not creepy enough? Also in a bathroom.

But Gabriel is a very handsome stalker. Well, I wouldn't mind if he's looking like this. LOL.

But this is actually an interesting story, with a good writing skill. I found myself enjoying this book, though the story line is not really my cuppa.
But soon as I pictured this a modern fairy tales about Little Red and his very own Mr.Wolf, I enjoyed this.
You'd also probably like this book. So, give this one a try!

ARC REVIEW : Breathe by Piper Scott

37882073

Atop an empire of his own design lives an alpha waiting to die.

CEO Marshall Alcrest has the financial world at his feet, but it’s been years since he’s made an omega kneel… and he’s come to terms that it’s too late to ever see it happen again. A grim prognosis will cut his days short if he doesn’t take action soon, and Marshall is ready to say goodbye to his hollow, lonely life… at least, until he crosses digital paths with an omega who makes him feel alive again.

Trapped in a world that doesn’t see his value exists an omega dying to live.

Oli McKellar is stuck. He’s educated and ready to work, but his chosen field is alpha-dominated, and no marketing department is looking to hire a pretty omega with a sarcastic mouth. The bills are stacking up, his temp jobs barely cover rent, and he’s begun to think that life will never get better. The only thing that keeps him going is his online relationship with a man he only knows as Alcrest—an older, dominant alpha with a silver tongue who makes him feel like not all hope is lost.

When a chance encounter turns Oli and Marshall’s virtual relationship real, their chemistry is off the charts, and things quickly heat up. But Marshall is keeping a secret… and when Oli finds out that a hot night together isn’t all he has to remember Marshall by, they’ll need to figure out if the weight of their obstacles will choke them into submission, or if theirs is the kind of love that will conquer all and leave them both breathless.

Breathe is a 63,000 word BDSM-flavored mpreg novel set following the events of Obey, Beg, Stay, and Heal. This conclusion to the series is best enjoyed as a sequel, but can be read on its own. No matter which way you read it, there will still be copious amounts of maybe-babies, a spaghetti graveyard, sexts so filthy that someone legitimately passes out, and a shower scene that will leave you gasping

Granted this series is one of my favorite MPreg Alpha Omega verse.
I loved Oli and Marshall so much, they're meant to be together since the very beginning.
I felt sorry for what happened to Marshall, but eventually Oli is the one who saved him from a disaster he's been created intentionally.
I liked the 'light BDSM' elements in this story, in fact I prefer this kind of telling for my BDSM reads.
Both Marshall and Oli were reckless at the time, but I think anything happened for a reason. What happened to Oli was the one that made Marshall rethinking about his stupid decision in the past.
Oli is the reason Marshall wanted to live again for a more longer time.
This is an adorable cute story and I really enjoyed every minutes reading this.
If Mpreg Alpha Omega is your thing, you need this book to read ASAP!
Highly recommended!

REVIEW : Forever With You by Londra Laine

Kelly Brooks Montes is only nineteen years old and just starting college in New York City when tragedy strikes, and he becomes a single dad to his toddler brother. Four years later, Kelly and his baby brother, Jaylen, are doing well, though Kelly leads a double life to make ends meet. He’s a high-level administrative assistant by day and a racy go-go boy by night. Between raising his brother, dancing, and trying not to run afoul of his new boss, Kelly doesn't have time for a boyfriend. Even if he did want a man in his life, a past trauma makes him question whether he can ever trust a man with his body or his heart. But then Kelly receives an unexpected but steamy birthday kiss from his boss, a man he was sure hated him, and he begins to wish for things he knows he shouldn't.

Andrew Whitman knew from the moment he held Kelly's hand that the man was special, and it both annoyed and terrified him. Kelly makes him feel a little out of control and Drew is a highly controlled man. He has to be to keep his sexuality a secret from his father, a conservative politician. And he is OK with that. He has a perfectly good, mutually beneficial, life plan with his best friend, Lex. A long time ago, he'd made his peace with the fact that he'd never find a man worth turning his life upside down for. Then he ends up with his capable and gorgeous assistant under him on top of his desk, and his life plans change. Drew can't seem to get out of his own way when it comes to the quiet, sexy, and surprising single dad, but he can't stop himself from falling for Kelly and his sweet baby brother. And just when it seems that Kelly has worked through his past hurts enough to let Drew into his body and his heart, manipulative family and words unspoken threaten to tear them apart. But after getting a taste of a life he never thought he could have, Drew won't let anything tear his fledgling family apart.

***Please be aware that this book contains a flashback of and several references to sexual assault that may be triggering to some readers.***

I considered this one as a slow burn. I didn't mind at all. Kelly needed sometimes to adjust his life that despite his horrible past, he liked his boss while his boss didn't like him, or that's what he thought.
Drew can't controlled his 'crush' to his assistant since day one Kelly worked for him, but he have to be a good boss, right? And by that, not showing any kindness and acted cold to Kelly, while he's being wonderful to everyone.
Pffftt, wrong move, buddy!

Even this is too slow for my taste, I felt that Kelly and Drew need it. Though I wanted to to slap Drew all the time he made Kelly sad and confuse. But there's something amiss with Drew. He desired Kelly all the time but rarely I saw him really appreciated Kelly as a good person with a good personality. It was mostly physical. Of course Kelly is young, very young and gorgeous, I wonder was it what Drew only 'see' in him?
And I found this story's dragging, I almost put it down, if not for Kelly. Kelly is a sweet heart. Sure he freaked out sometimes, but I liked him and could understand why he freaked out (Trigger warning : (view spoiler)).

Overall this is an okay story, I read this on Christmas, probably not a good time to read this theme. You'll probably like this book anyway.
