Recipe for Romance (Recipe for Romance #1-4) by Ari McKay

Blurb

Four couples, four different stories -- and one spicy Recipe for Romance from author Ari McKay!

Welcome to Montgomery House, Charleston’s finest restaurant. When you walk in the front doors of the stately former mansion, you’ll be surrounded by true Southern charm. Owner Rhys Montgomery will personally welcome you, while the tantalizing scents of Executive Chef Stephen Pierce’s latest culinary masterpiece linger in the air. Enjoy a walk in the gardens or an elegant meal in the dining room, as you watch the love stories play out around you...

Bay Leaves and Bachelors -- Clay Turner’s heart was broken by a wealthy man who said he was boring. When rich, outgoing restaurateur Rhys Montgomery sets his sights on the quiet academic, drawn in by Clay’s intelligence and sex appeal, he finds he has an uphill battle to win Clay’s trust. Can Rhys burrow his way into Clay’s heart, or will Clay’s insecurity become a wall between them that not even true love can break down?

Fennel and Forgiveness -- Seven years ago, Max Boyd broke Darius Cooper’s heart. Darius wanted a commitment, and Max wanted to focus on his career in Georgia’s television industry. Their ten year difference in age and experience tore them apart, but fate throws them back together when Max arrives at the Montgomery House, where Darius now works. Will Southern Wedding Belles bring them a second chance for love or is Darius’s trust too shattered for Max to heal?

Ginger and Gentlemen -- Ian Pierce has lived in his older brother Stephen’s shadow his entire life, always feeling second best. His best friend, Matt Davis, is the only person he trusts to be on his side. Despite being in dire financial straits, Ian wants to refuse Stephen’s request to film an episode of Mouth of the South at Ian’s restaurant, but the bonus money offered in the contract is too much to resist. He accepts without knowing the hefty bonus comes from Matt, not the production company. Will Ian feel betrayed by the one person he trusts above all others when he finds out, or will Matt’s desire to help Ian succeed even at his own financial risk take them from friends to lovers at last?

Cinnamon and Seduction -- Chef Stephen Pierce has talent and a determination to succeed that is matched only by his fierce temper and prickly personality. Yet his long-suffering personal assistant, Robert Logan, has carried a torch for Stephen since the day they met. Everyone around Montgomery House knows Robert is in love with Stephen -- everyone, that is, except Stephen himself. Can Rhys, Clay, Darius, Max, Ian, and Matt find a way to make Stephen see that Robert is the perfect man for him, or will even Robert’s legendary talent for matchmaking fail to win him the man he loves?

Now that she is an empty-nester, she has turned her attentions to finding the perfect piece of land to build a fortress in preparation for the zombie apocalypse, and baking (and eating) far too many cakes.

McKay is an English teacher who has been writing for one reason or another most of her life. She also enjoys knitting, reading, cooking, and playing video games. She has been known to knit in public. Given she has the survival skills of a gnat, she’s relying on Arionrhod to help her survive the zombie apocalypse.

This was overall some nice stories with some plus recipes.
I liked the whole four stories, but my favorite was Robert and Stephen's Cinnamon and Seduction.
Not so much to tell, but it was a fun bundle of joyful stories. This book made me hungry :) (for food) LOL.

My review :

DNF at 38% mark.

No rating.

This book didn't work for me, including the writing style.
Even though I liked Rory a bit and his adorable son, Keegan, I had to let this story pass.
This was the first book I read from this author, and this was a let down knowing I had to stop here.
Not my cuppa. Sorry.

OMG Isamu and Brian are so adorable, I'm loving every words, every chapter, and everything Isamu and Brian shared to the world.
This book cannot read as stand alone, since this is actually Isamu and Brian's wedding preparation.
The chaos, the insecure feeling, and don't worry about the steam!
Brian's crazy about Isamu, and he made sure Isamu knew how much he love Isamu.
I enjoyed Nine Small Sips, and cannot wait for Devon and C's story!

Length: 227 pages

Blurb

Tree surgeon Aidan Drummond is content with his own company. He works alone, and lives alone, and it doesn’t occur to him to want anything else until a life-changing accident lands him in hospital. Then a glimpse of the beautiful boy in the opposite bed changes everything.

Ludo Giordano is trapped on the ward with a bunch of old men. His mind plays tricks on him, keeping him awake. Then late one night, a new face brings a welcome distraction. Their unlikely friendship is addictive. And, like most things in Ludo’s life, temporary.

Back in the real world, Aidan’s monochrome existence is no longer enough. He craves the colour Ludo brought him, and when a chance meeting brings them back together, before long, they’re inseparable again.

But bliss comes with complications. Aidan is on the road to recovery, but Ludo has been unwell his entire life, and that’s not going to change. Aidan can kiss him as much as he likes, but if he can’t help Ludo when he needs him most, they don’t stand a chance.

"Kiss Me Again is a deliciously tender and prickly romance about the intimacy that comes with acceptance. Ludo and Aidan accept and love each other for exactly who they are—complications, injuries, mental health issues, moods—and I loved them for it." -- Roan Parish

Kiss Me AgainKiss Me Again by Garrett Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kiss Me Again was a soft and tender story between Ludo and Aidan. It was heartbreaking, but at the same time, a heartwarming and adorable romance that I craved from Garrett.
Garrett is the queen of angst, of course this book gave you a different kind of angst. Started from the beginning, my heart was broken for Ludo and what he suffering all his life.
Then came Aidan to the picture. Life's more bearable for Ludo after Aidan came into his life.

Kiss Me Again, is a story of acceptance and an ability to for the two of them to cope with their disability to keep going and be who they are, together.

If you love Garrett's angst and her sweetness, you'll love Aidan and Ludo's love story
