Outback Boys, Book 2

Standoffish Aiden is content keeping people at a distance and ensuring his boundaries are impenetrable. There’s safety in not opening up, but there’s also a loneliness he doesn’t realise exists until he meets Riley, a new member of the LGBTQI+ adventure group Outback Boys.

Fascinated by the new guy, Aiden is quick to discover his flirtation skills are rusty and his sweet-talking is cringeworthy. But sweet and clumsy Riley doesn’t seem to mind so much.

Even though Riley doesn’t quite know how to handle Aiden’s intensity, he’s willing to step out of his comfort zone and see how their tentative friendship unravels.

Between a surf lesson that resembles a kangaroo on acid and paddle boarding that is trickier than walking a tightrope, Aiden and Riley discover love may be a possibility after all.

Happiness relies on honesty and openness, though. And with both men holding on tightly to past struggles, their future together is at risk. Can the two Aussies bounce back and heal themselves and each other, or are some wounds too raw to recover from?

Outback Boys is a sweet and sexy M/M romance series complete with bruised butts, rope burn, and overworked muscles… all in the pursuit of adventure, of course!

Trigger Warning: Contains themes (discussions) of mental health and suicide.

Coming March 27!

“You did great. Now look at you,” Mark said to Trey. “Speeding on ahead and giving even hardened adventurers a run for their money.” He turned his attention to me. “Honestly, just get through today, and you’ll find you’ll love it. Doesn’t mean you won’t feel the burn tomorrow, though.” He grinned.

A low groan tumbled from me. “Is it going to be that bad?”

Mark laughed good-naturedly. “Tomorrow we’re kayaking, so at least your legs will be given a break. You’ll be fine.”

I hoped he was right.

“Great job, everyone.” I turned my attention to a new voice. A guy called Frank had done a small greet and intro when we’d set up camp this morning. The tall, brown-haired guy currently holding my attention was most definitely not Frank—a smiley guy in his sixties. Nope. The hunk of deliciousness was perhaps close to my age and had such sculptured, toned legs that I doubted the measly eighteen kilometres from today would be felt. “My name’s Aiden, for those first-timers.” He glanced around, his eyes connecting with mine, a friendly smile forming on his lips.

Hot damn.

I gulped, impressed I remembered how to complete that simple action since my whole body reacted to the man.

“We’ll stop for twenty minutes, then continue the trail.” He looked at his watch. “We should be able to take another pit stop when we’re on the last leg and be back at camp by five.”

Frank walked to his side, saying, “Don’t forget to holler if you need anything, and we’ll let you know tonight about the plans for tomorrow.” He turned to Aiden, who said something and laughed. While I couldn’t hear the words, his laughter was deep and loud. Goosebumps travelled up my skin at the sound.

An elbow in my side had me whipping my head around. My gaze landed on Pete’s shit-eating grin. “Pick your jaw up off the ground.” While he spoke a little lower than usual, Mark and Trey snorted, clearly having heard him.

Heat flushed up my neck, spreading across my cheeks. I cleared my throat and narrowed my eyes at Pete. “I was only paying attention.”

“Uh-huh.” Pete nodded, amusement dancing in his eyes. “And the drool?”

I huffed and shook my head. “Piss off.”

Check out where it all began...

Outback Boys, Book 1

Trey has a problem he’s worked hard to manage. It involves not turning into a bumbling mess while around a gorgeous brown-haired man who’s way out of his league. Eight months’ practice from being part of the same LGBTQI+ adventure group, Outback Boys, means he’s perfected the skill.

That’s until an epic stumble makes his head spin and he throws all caution to the wind. But there’s no turning back now, especially since a snow-filled trip means they’re forced to spend even more time together.

Mark has no concerns about the changes unfolding between him and Trey, the giant of a man who’s adorably reserved. He’s been crushing on him for so long that he’s eager to explore more. But when their latest adventure is over and they fall back into the real world, balancing work, life, and a relationship proves more challenging than he envisioned.

Something has got to give, and neither man knows the best way ahead without upsetting the status quo. Can the two Aussies work their way through their new connection, or will they stumble at the first hurdle in their way?

Outback Boys is a sweet and sexy low-angst M/M romance series complete with bruised butts, rope burn, and overworked muscles… all in the pursuit of adventure, of course!

This title was originally part of the Winter Wonderland Giveaway. The Amazon version, however, includes new bonus content--two extended scenes and a must-read epilogue.

Not So Sincerely, Yours
By A.M. Johnson

Not So Sincerely, Yours Cover

For Him, Book 2

Ethan,
About last night... I could blame the bourbon. I could say I let things get out of hand, that I should have never called you, but I'm done lying to myself—to you. I know what you're going to say. You're not very good at keeping your opinions to yourself, but this can't happen. It's inappropriate, at best. I'm your boss. Not to mention, you're clearly still hung up on him. I'm not a consolation prize.

Anders~

**

Anders,
You didn't think it was inappropriate when you had your tongue down my throat, but I digress. As for your accusation, I'm not the only one stuck in the past, but at least I'm not running from it. I can't believe I'm about to say this… Maybe you're right. You shouldn’t have called me. Especially if you never intended to own it. Own that you wanted it to happen. Admit that you wanted me.

Not so sincerely,
Yours

Cover Reveal Excerpt:

The city was awake with foot traffic and blaring car horns. People in business attire with cups of coffee buzzed by me as I leaned against the locked door of Lowe Literary. It was forty-five minutes after seven, and I’d been standing here since six-thirty, thinking it would be smart to arrive early. I’d been worried about parking, or worse, getting lost in the city. I didn’t drive much around Denver, and growing up in small-town backcountry Florida, I could admit I wasn’t adequately equipped for the big city. My hands were cold, even stuffed in my pockets, and my temper bordered on irate. I’d texted Anders about twenty minutes ago and he hadn’t answered. I was seconds from saying fuck it and walking back to my car when he finally rounded the corner. Anders was all confidence in a steel-colored suit with a deep blue button down underneath. His golden blond hair was artfully disheveled, giving him a casual appearance, but I’d bet my left kidney it’d taken him an hour to get ready this morning. Maybe that’s why he was late.

“You’re early,” he said, his voice smooth and bored.

He didn’t spare me a glance as he pulled keys from his pocket and opened the door.

My jaw ached as I gritted my teeth. “Early? You told me to be here at seven.”

“Did I?” he asked, and I could hear the fucking humor in his voice.

“Yeah…” Asshole. “You did.”

I followed him into the office, the lights automatically illuminating as we stepped inside. The place was nice, not as cold as I assumed it would be. Instead of glass and metal, everything was warm wood and earth tones.

“Office hours are nine to four. Kris used to show up around eight-thirty,” he said, leaning against the only desk in the lobby. “This is your workspace. I’ll get your log-in information when you get back.”

I took a calming breath. “Back from where?”

“The Starbucks two blocks west from here.” His lips lifted more on the right side of his mouth, his grin crooked. He was enjoying himself at my expense. “Americano for me, and you can get whatever you want within reason. Here…” He reached into his bag while I seethed. No apology for making me sit in the damn cold for over an hour, nope, right to business. “This is the company card. I expect a receipt for any purchases you make for me or Lowe Literary.”

I took the card from his hand, “Receipts. Got it.”

His blue eyes traveled over my body slow and disapproving. I had on the best pair of jeans I owned, and borrowed one of Jax’s polo shirts. I didn’t have the money for bullshit designer suits, but I cleaned up okay.

“You’re the face of Lowe Literary, Mr. Calloway. I expect you to dress like you give a shit.”

I huffed out a laugh. “Well, I expect a boss who shows up on time.”

“I was on time.” Arrogant as hell, he slipped his hand into his slacks.

“Why did you tell me seven if we don’t open until nine?” I asked, ignoring his confident glare.

He hesitated, and I wondered what bullshit excuse he was about to give me when he surprised me with the truth. “Initiation. Payback. Perhaps a bit of both.”

I understood the payback part. I’d be pissed if I caught strangers fucking in my house too. But initiation? Like what? Hazing?

“Look, I’m sorry about—”

He raised his hand, silencing me. “You’re here because Wilder asked me to help out his friend. Apologies are unnecessary. This isn’t about you. It’s best if you remember that. Show up. Do your job. And there won’t be a problem.”

Before I had a chance to reply, he walked away and disappeared down the hall. Furious, and feeling smaller than I ever had in my entire life I contemplated quitting. I didn’t need to put up with his shit. I could be on site with Jax in an hour if I wanted. I slammed my eyes shut and tried to push down my anger and pride. This job would allow me the time I needed to do my schoolwork. And according to the nursing program advisor I’d spoken with last week, I had a shit ton of prerequisites I had to complete before I could even apply to the RN program. If it weren’t for Mr. Superiority Complex, this would be the chillest job I could find. And I’d never find a gig that paid me as well as this did. I groaned and pocketed the business credit card, hating the way Anders had me by the balls.

"I really did love this book. Loved Jude and Mason. And when conflict did arise, I loved the way they dealt with it. That's a lot of "loves!" ~Carol--Goodreads reviewer

"Their chemistry is amazing, and as usual with Felice's books, I didn't want to put my kindle down. I'm in a total book coma after reading this."~Lisa K. Goodreads reviewer

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy, and that includes love.
She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe yet can't stop buying "just one more pair" of black pants. Felice is a happily addicted Bravo and Say Yes to the Dress addict and proud of it. And let's not get started on House Hunters. Her dream day starts out with iced coffee and ends with Prosecco, because...why shouldn't it? You can find her procrastinating on FB in her reader group, Felice's Breakfast Club.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“ Sometimes when we let ourselves go, we find ourselves exactly where we belong.”"

When you can ignored social media gossips and hooked on your sofa cannot stop reading, you know the book is doing great.
Mason and Jude did that to me. I was hooked from the first chapter and can not put the book down.
Great opposite attracts romance from my favorite author.

"You’re the most fundamental part of who I’ve become. You’re a mystery to me, yet so familiar, like a song I’d never heard before, but whose words were right on the tip of my tongue. When you look at me, I see a reflection of us. And I hope you want to take a chance. With me.”

This story, Jude and Mason has become my new favorite from Felice Stevens .
Mason had my heart soon as I knew his struggle to prove that he's not what everyone's thought he was. Especially when it comes to his forever crush, Jude, his brother's best friend.
My heart was breaking after I read how much Jude denied Mason, for what? His pride?
I wanted to hug Mason all the time and I can feel his pain ( Felice does know how to make my heart weep ), and kind of a teeny bit wanted to slap Jude for his arrogance.
But then, knowing what caused it and how much he's willing to tear his wall down for Mason, melted me.
Jude and Mason trapped me in one sitting read, shed a few tears and sighing happily after I finished the book.
I adore Felice's writing and the guys she shared with us.
This is a heartwarming romance I craved every time I think the world is sucks and love's not exist.
That's why I read romance.

Special Release Tour Excerpt:

Jesse

Jesus. Hacking up a lung. “Ow!”

I stepped back into the same attack holly bush I’d run into twice already, but the lawn of the ALA house was so crowded with people, it was hard to avoid. My too-thin-for-January-in-Wisconsin sleep pants now sported a rip while I was suffering a serious shrinkage factor.

Who the fuck set our house on fire?

Firefighters in bright-yellow uniforms pushed into the front door of our house, and the lawn was covered with my Alpha Lambda Alpha frat brothers and their dates in various stages of undress. It’d been a date night. Well, not for me, but still.

Coughing, I sidled over to Tray. “Hey. What the hell happened? Was it Bubba?” God knows it wouldn’t be the first time Bubba’d decided to dry his jock in the oven.

Traynor Blackstone, my best friend on the campus, shook his head. “No clue.” He turned his handsome face and really looked at me. “What happened to you? One minute, I handed you a beer and then poof.”

“Had to study.”

“Come on, my man. I know you’ve got tough-ass classes, but football season’s over, and date night’s sacred.”

I shrugged and stared at the sneakers I’d managed to rummage from under my bed before I ran out the door. “Got an exam.”

He barked a laugh. “One of these days, Mr. Running Back, we’ll hook you up with a female so fine you’ll turn in your texts for sexts.”

“Could happen.” I smiled. But not in this life.

“We’ve got to get you out of your ivory tower somehow, my man.”

I just shrugged. Not much I could say. Tray was my friend. I loved the guy, but no one, even him, had ever gotten me to tell the truth.

He shook his head, but it was friendly. “Come on.” He pushed through the masses of coughing people and trip-hazard hoses to Rand, the president and all-around phenom of the human kind. Rand was so perfect he made me antsy. I liked and respected him. Hell, he was the only ALA who’d ever had the nerve to come out as gay, and he was still so admired, the chapter put him in charge. Maybe I just couldn’t stand the comparison. Tray, however, saw everyone as his equal. One of the best qualities in a friend.

“Rand, what the fuck up?”

“Not sure yet, but I’m getting a damned clue.” He spoke from the corner of his mouth and never took his eyes off the SMT house across the street. Like all the other frat houses on the block, their guys were out on the lawn staring at the chaos that was ALA. I’d never tell my brothers, but some of those dudes were seriously cute.

I crossed my sneakered feet.

But then I’d never tell my brothers I thought any dude was cute.

Tray thrust his chin toward Rand. “Share.”

Rand turned and lowered his voice. “JC and Rex say they saw a couple of the Poins sneaking out from behind our house like forty-five minutes ago.”

The Poins were what we called the frat bros at Sigma Mu Tau. Short for Poindexters, aka nerds.

The words shot out of my mouth. “The Poins set fire to our fucking house?” I bit my tongue because Rand really looked at me, and that made me want to go back to the holly bush. But damn, ratfucking with practical jokes was one thing. Burning down a frat house—my frat house—was way beyond. Just the thought made me breathe hard, and I had to suck air in through my nose. Hell, the cost of living in the frat house was doable for me—barely. If I had to move? I shied away from the thought.

Rand said, “I don’t know. But if they did it, Dean Robberts is going to eat their balls for breakfast.” He grinned evilly. “I’ll make sure of it.”

Tray chuckled.

All three of us stared across the street. The SMT president, Jax, stared back. He was kind of a hipster with a beard and wool beanie permanently attached to his head. Rand hated his guts. Next to him was that skinny guy, Dobbs, who was so obnoxious there should be a restraining order on his mouth. Our rivalry with the SMTs was tradition and kept the ALAs on their toes. But when it came down to it, I had way bigger things in my life to worry about than those douchebags. If the rivalry fucked with my house and my scholarship, then, hell yeah, the SMTs and I had a significant problem.

Schooling the JockSchooling the Jock by Tara Lain
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The theme of this story is actually a cliché romance. A jock met a nerd, jock in the closet, the nerd is out and proud, but they fell in love and love conquers all.
But the way Eli Easton and Tara Lain tells the story is captivating and beautiful. Especially when they added family and how much family will support you or kill your dreams.
This series can read as stand alone, thee couples, at the same time/event, three books but each book is telling a different story.
Started with a silly fight between the brain and the muscle, ended in Dean's office, and they had to mingle. It was a chaos in the beginning but ended up with finding out their 'other' talents, and romances.

Dobbs is an out and proud geek, had to 'train' Jesse, the closeted jock to do Quiz Bowl. Not really a hard job, surprisingly, Jesse is smarter than they thought. It had to be a regular coaching, but when the coaching involved family and two autistic twins who liked Dobbs too much, it becomes a little bit personal. I won't elaborate why Jesse did that or why he's in the closet while his friend Rand is out.

Schooling The Jock is a cute campus romance with an addition two adorable ten year old twins that stole my heart.
I enjoyed this story too much it was hard to put it down.
Cannot wait to read another two installment in this series!

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It's always a surprise to see what's coming next!
I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it's true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women's hair!
Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life - I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations - regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal... I don't want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I'm going to tell you about Kindl
I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I'll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died - weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn't have to be alone.
That time in my life was terrible. It's everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.
Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness - it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.
Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn't a time she wasn't there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It's its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn't be here today without her.

BreakawayBreakaway by Kindle Alexander
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was debating myself before writing my review. I love Kindle and I was crazy about her book, Always.
Breakaway is a standalone story about Greer and Dallas who were met the business deal. I do not understand about online cycling business, just knew it from Will Morowski on Instagram. Probably because I had no idea about this, a little too much information and technical, bored me. Greer in my opinion is one of those clingy boyfriend that some people needed, but not me, I felt claustrophobic reading Greer's messages and how much he always wanted to be near Dallas all the time. It was exhausting. Also the too much telling didn't work out for me anymore. I have lost my patience too many time. I had to skimming and I hated it when I have to skim my reading.
I need to devoured every word written, but this one didn't seem hold my attention much.

The story itself is simple. Greer met Dallas the closeted gay because his father is a homophobic b*stard and been on therapy, so he's kinda afraid to show who he really is. While Greer is out and proud. That's it.
This is a decent story if you're up for a long book and the telling not showing.
I knew I'm in minority with my opinion (kinda hold up a bit seeing all the five stars rating). But I have to go on with my opinion.
If you're a big fan of Kindle, please do read all the glowing reviews, you'll probably would have the same opinion with other reviewers in the end.
