Blurb

On stage, Adam lets his passion drive him. All his secret desires, everything nasty, dirty, and beautiful flows freely through him, for once in harmony. His soul thrives when his body moves, but only on stage. Adam’s passionate nature makes him a great dancer…and a failure at life. He’s a lonely, emotional mess. Going home with a man far out of his reach is the last thing Adam should do. Christoffer represents everything Adam isn’t: strong, independent, educated, and rich. His kind eyes, at odds with his brutish form, make Adam’s knees and restraint buckle.

Once Christoffer sees Adam dancing, he’s lost. The young man is mesmerizing, otherworldly, and unpredictable. Whatever might happen between them, it will be transient, and Christoffer will most likely get hurt. The temptation is too great, however, and the sex explosive. He might as well enjoy every moment he’s given, even if it’s just one day, maybe two. If Christoffer treads carefully, Adam might stay until Monday.

Excerpt

He didn’t have a clue what he was doing. Why was he still here? He should leave. Now.

The house was far away from any main roads, but he could walk for a bit and then get a taxi to the nearest train station back to the city. Maybe there was a bus stop somewhere close. His thoughts sharpened—the jerking off, swim, and caffeine had cleared his brain. Determined not to waste more time daydreaming about wealthy bears who never gave a damn, he finished his coffee. He’d need to sneak back to the bathroom to get his clothes. And his phone. He shouldn’t have lingered.

He found which cabinet door in the kitchen hid the built-in dishwasher and placed the cup inside. Then he climbed the stairs on tiptoes and peeked into the bedroom. Christoffer slept on his back, snoring softly.

Adam spotted his phone on the nightstand. Christoffer must have put it on charge after Adam had fallen asleep. He wouldn’t dwell on how considerate that was. He snatched up the phone and closed himself in the bathroom.

Eying the red thong with disgust, he threw it in the trash. What had he been thinking? He dragged the jeans up his naked body, pulled on his socks and slid into the T-shirt. His jacket was downstairs. He opened the door carefully, ready to bolt without looking at the sleeping man.

Except Christoffer was now sitting on the edge of the bed, naked, staring up at Adam with sleepy eyes.

Shit.

“Hi,” Christoffer murmured. His eyes slid up and down Adam’s body, noticing the clothes. His smile turned cautious.

“Hi.” Adam shifted from foot to foot. What now?

The moment dragged on until Adam’s heart was pounding. He needed to say something, quick, and get out of there before it could get any more awkward.

“I…” he began but closed his mouth again. He couldn’t decipher Christoffer’s expression. And all that skin on display was distracting.

Christoffer braced his hands on his knees and inhaled deeply, his Goliathan shoulders lifting. “You like eggs?”

“What?”

“For breakfast.”

“Yeah,” Adam blurted before he thought of the implications. He was staying for breakfast? He wanted to. Stupid! He absolutely shouldn’t! Seeing Christoffer now, those gentle gray eyes such a contrast to his brutish form, Adam ached to stay. You stupid, horny, clingy asshole. Get out of here!

He opened his mouth to say something else, to apologize and whisper goodbye, but Christoffer was faster.

“Good. Wait for me in the kitchen. I just need to…” He gestured to the bathroom door behind Adam’s back.

“Oh. Sure.”

Adam stepped aside, quivering, and the big man stood in all his naked glory. He bent down and kissed Adam’s cheek, lingering, his breath hot by Adam’s ear. Then he disappeared into the bathroom. “I’ll be just a minute,” he threw over his shoulder before the door snapped shut.

Adam stood there, stunned, and touched his tingling cheek.

Review

Oh well, as much as I wanted to give this book a higher rating, this one didn't do it for me.It was confusing, mostly because of the main characters behaviour towards each other. Also the lacking of chemistry made me wonder about the HEA. I hope I can give Anna Martin's book a higher rating in the near future. Not this time, sorry.

About The Author

Anna Martin is from a picturesque seaside village in the southwest of England and now lives in the Bristol, a city that embraces her love for the arts. After spending most of her childhood making up stories, she studied English literature at university before attempting to turn her hand as a professional writer.

Apart from being physically dependent on her laptop, Anna is enthusiastic about writing and producing local grassroots theater (especially at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she can be found every summer), going to visit friends in other countries, and reading anything thatís put under her nose.

Anna claims her entire career is due to the love, support, prereading, and creative ass kicking provided by her best friend Jennifer. Jennifer refuses to accept responsibility for anything Anna has written.

Release Blitz - Nell Iris - His Steady Heart

Length: 25,600 words approx.

Publisher: JMS Books

Blurb

Ashley “Buck” Buchanan moved back home to take care of his sick mother when he was 22. That was the first time he met Pippin, the neglected 6-year-old boy next door. Fifteen years later, Buck, a caretaker by nature, offers up his couch for Pippin, who needs a break from his mom and a quiet place to sleep.

Pippin Olander is a ray of sunshine despite his emotionally lacking upbringing and works hard to make a better life for himself. Even though he’s fiercely self-sufficient, he learns to accept help from Buck, his rock and the only steady presence in his life.

Their friendship deepens and grows into something more as they spend time together. But when other people try to throw a wrench in the works, when Pippin’s independence is triggered, can Buck and Pippin trust in the love they’ve found?

Nell Iris is a romantic at heart who believes everyone deserves a happy ending. She’s a bona fide bookworm (learned to read long before she started school), wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without something to read (not even the ladies’ room), loves music (and singing along but, let’s face it, she’s no Celine Dion), and is a real Star Trek nerd (“Make it so”). She loves words, poetry, wine, and Sudoku, and absolutely adores elephants!

Nell believes passionately in equality for all regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, and wants to make the world a better, less hateful, place.

Nell is a forty-something bisexual Swedish woman, married to the love of her life, and a proud mama of a grown daughter. She left the Scandinavian cold and darkness for warmer and sunnier Malaysia a few years ago, and now spends her days writing, surfing the Internet, enjoying the heat, and eating good food. One day she decided to chase her lifelong dream of being a writer, sat down in front of her laptop, and wrote a story about two men falling in love.

Nell Iris writes gay romance, prefers sweet over angst, and wants to write diverse and different characters.

BLOG POST AND ARC REVIEW : The Hate You Drink by N.R. Walker

45549981

Erik Keston, son of the Keston Real Estate empire, knows what it takes to be successful. Despite his inherent wealth, he holds his own. He works hard, he’s grounded, he’s brilliant. He’s also secretly in love with his best friend.

Monroe Wellman lost his parents three years ago and never grieved, never recovered. Inheriting the family company and wealth means nothing, and his spiral of self-destruction is widespread and spectacular. Dubbed Sydney’s bad boy, he spends more days drunk than sober, and the only person who’s stuck by him through it all is his best mate.

But when Monroe hits rock bottom, Erik gives him an ultimatum, and his entire world comes to a grinding halt. It’s not until the haze lifts that Monroe can truly see what he’s been searching for was never in the bottom of a bottle. It’s been by his side all along.

An 80,000-word friends-to-lovers story about fighting the demons within and trusting in the love that takes its place.

“Because when all you drink is hate, that’s all there is inside you.”

My personal trigger warning.
Had been living with an alcoholic for years. Wasn't a pretty years at all.
But can't deny Nr Walker ;/

At first, I tried to deny this book and didn't want to read Nic Walker's book for the first time. But the temptation was so strong, like an alcoholic I was, I was finally gave up and read the book, and I was hooked. I never used to like a doormat main character, but Erik stole my heart and I rooted for him.
I saw me in Saul, the therapist, his story almost similar as mine, backstory made us what we are now, a therapist for addicts.

This is not an easy story for me to read, because I knew what Erik's felt about it so well. The struggle, the sadness, the anger. While I was given up fight long time ago and never looked back, Erik didn't. Life is never a romance novel anyway. Good thing is, this book is the one I always wants romances.
A guaranteed HEA.
I loved the epilogue, that's all I asked for.

Personal note : if you or your partner struggle for addiction, find help. It helps. Trust me.

ARC REVIEW : Broken Silence by Felice Stevens

45142826

Justin Molina has secrets. He’s served his time but remains a prisoner of his past, unable to forgive himself for failing his family when they needed him most. Justin’s grief is overwhelming, but he keeps silent and focuses on his goals. About to graduate college, he tries to keep his head above water—no matter how many times life keeps knocking him down. When he’s forced to register for a poetry-writing class, Justin discovers putting words to his feelings might be exactly what his fractured heart needs to heal. Or is it the older professor with the bow ties and gentle smile who gives him a chance when no one else will?

Professor Foster Faraday Harding is a broken man. His divorce is final, and he’s reverted back to the safety of his books. Even his poetry no longer brings him joy; he’s sleepwalking through life. The raw emotion of Justin’s poetry awakens Foster to desires he thought long buried in the ashes of his marriage. When he discovers Justin is struggling financially, Foster offers him a solution that benefits both of them. Soon it’s Foster who’s struggling with emotions he can’t understand: Justin is his student. And a man. One crazy night years earlier doesn’t mean anything. Foster is straight.

After months of denying the growing attraction between them, an unexpected kiss changes everything. Justin and Foster are no longer only professor and student—they’ve become lovers, but the strain of hiding their relationship increases with each passing day. Words have the power not only to hurt but to heal the greatest pain. If Foster and Justin listen to what their hearts are saying, they might break through their silence and live their own love poems—together.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Felice make it a habit breaking my heart with her stories. My first thought that this is a Professor - student story, should be sexy and steamy. But there are so much about Justin and Foster that I can relate to a real life.
It's hard not to give a spoiler about the story. Broken Silence mostly telling about Justin, the ex-con student who fell hard for his proper Professor in poetry class. Seventeen years senior his age.
Foster wasn't immune for Justin's sexy charm, but he was just got a bad divorced and not ready to start a relationship.
But when you feel it, you feel it, right?

Broken Silence is a sexy professor - student with loads of heart wrenching feeling about the two of them, and the struggle to move on from whatever baggage they carried in the past.

I really enjoyed their interaction, the dance they danced around each other, the pull and push, the denial, the tug of war about right or wrong. Until finally, they cannot lied to their heart anymore, and let everything put in place naturally.
I enjoyed Ross, Benny, Justin's parents, Foster's friends and the potential stories that I knew Felice won't let pass.
Cannot wait Benny and Gino's story, and Ross and his sudden attraction to nature (?) story in the near future!
Recommended!

Teaser :

Ben: Where the hell is Block C?
I stall in the middle of a quiet quad, my stomach knotting, and unknotting, and knotting again. I’m already five minutes late, and I have no clue where I’m going. Like, I recognize half the buildings from when I went to Kresley Intermediate. The layout’s the same, but Block C? I didn’t even know there was a Block C. Jesus, and it’s quiet. Have I got the wrong evening? Or have all the other parents arrived on time like responsible adults? I breathe in a salty sea breeze and wish I were one of the seagulls circling overhead, that I could better find the block I’m meant to be in.
Mrs. Devon’s going to kick my ass. Unless she’s softened with age? Maybe she’ll cut me some slack when I explain my car stalled up the hill and I had to drive in neutral—and terror—all the way here. I can only hope. What was my best bet? The longer block of brightly painted buildings? Or the shorter, taller block? Looked like more lights were on in the taller block.
A path winds around a semi-cordoned off grassy-stretch, but I dash over the boggy grass. I’ll take every saved minute I can— My foot skids through a slick patch, and I’m whipped onto my ass with a wet, heavy slap. I brace my hands against the cold ground, weeds and sludge slurping between my fingers. With a shaky laugh, I push myself to my feet. Some days sure are tests of fortitude. “Shortcuts never end well.” I whirl around. A dozen yards away, a male figure is casually leaning over a ramp leading to the craft rooms. The setting sun behind the building makes it difficult to see much. I wipe the globs of mud from my good jeans. “You don’t say.”

The slow burn's killing me! But Ben and Jack are 'really' made for each other! With a materialistic eleven year old Milo who's addicted to fanta, Made for you is a funny, romantic, sexy story about family. Ben and Jack hand in hand, built their kind of family and a 'home' their way.
I adore this story so much, I adored Jack, Ben and Milo and how much Jack's patience drove this family to the right direction!
Made for You is one of Anyta Sunday's best, and has easily became my favorite of this author.

Wounded SoulWounded Soul by Annabelle Jacobs
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

..3,5.

I debated myself whether three or four, so I ended gave this one 3,5.
Jesse and Ian unquestionably adorable together, they hit it off from the get go, can't stop thinking about each other and a supposedly one night stand had become two, and there were when the real story begun.
I liked Ian and Jesse, but NOT Peter. I think he's the major reason I considered to low down the rating, just because he's the most unlikable character in this story.
I always avoided a love triangle in my reading as much as I can, and Wounded Soul is 'that' book.
While I felt a little uncomfortable , I had to continue the story.
I think this was an okay read and has so many potential to make me like it, but unfortunately there's something missing that I cannot point what it was.
I'll get back to you when (if) I'll find out what.
