A Scotsman and an Englishman fall in love…

After the most amazing week of Declan Ramsay's life, at Dunloch Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, in Scotland. The charming, mysterious Samuel Aiken has turned Declan's life upside down. Declan has experienced a remarkable change. He has come to terms with the fact he is bisexual, and he has fallen head-over-heels in love with his boss’s son Sam.
However, falling for his boss’s son was never going to be an easy path to happiness, mainly because the boss in question is multi-millionaire property tycoon and former MI5 operative, Sir James Aiken.
Sir James is repulsed by his son’s homosexuality, and so discovering that his employee Declan Ramsay- the man he installed to run his luxury property rental empire- is in a relationship with Sam, does not go down well.
The lovers cannot hide from the looming presence of Sir James Aiken for long! Soon enough James makes his move, and Declan finds out what he will have to endure to stay with Sam, and what he will have to give to feel worthy of Sam's love.

**The story continues in "Return to Zero" (Shatterproof Bond #2)** This second book will be released on 6th June 2016

EXCERPT

It was the first time Sam and Declan had ever invited guests over to the apartment.  It was such a normal thing to do, and the thought of it made Sam feel ridiculously sentimental.  Everyone seated at the table was in-love, and everyone appeared happy.  Sam could never have guessed a year ago, that the man he had been emailing to discuss Oliver and Annabelle’s impending nuptials would turn out to be the one.

Sam observed each of their faces in turn, Declan, his own big, handsome man, grey eyes sparkling with mirth and his cheeks flushed pink from alcohol and laughter.  He was devouring his umpteenth petit four.  And then Oliver, the brother who looked nothing like Declan, with his average pasty looks, ‘strawberry blond’ ginger hair, and angular features.  And finally Annabelle, wild dark curls cascading onto her shoulders, and her smile radiating happiness.  Sam felt so lucky to be in their company, to feel at ease being himself.

Declan’s socked foot slid up Sam’s trouser leg, Sam looked up to meet his gaze.
“Tell me.  What was Sam like as a kid?”  Declan said to Belle, while smirking at Sam.
“And what was Declan like?”  Sam addressed to Oliver, returning Declan’s mischievous stare.
Oliver and Annabelle turned and grinned at each other.  “Ladies first, darlin’,” Oliver said.  Annabelle fixed her gaze on Sam.  His eyes pleaded, as if he knew exactly which story Belle would choose to share from her vast repertoire.

“When Sam was six… or seven,” She began.  Sam hid his face in his hands and groaned.
Declan laughed at the reaction, he couldn’t wait for the embarrassing story.
“… I think I was around ten or eleven.  Anyway, Dad was always away a lot, you know, for work, and Sam asked mum what dad did for a living.  Mum couldn’t tell us he worked for the government, for our own safety, of course.  We all know how kids blab in the playground.  We’ll, mum told Sam that our father worked as an Escapology trainer, and when he was away, someone had gotten stuck and he was helping them escape.”
“Awe, that’s kinda cute,” Oliver said.
“Isn’t it!  Any other child would have taken that with a pinch of salt and moved on.  But, my darling brother was never like the other children” She said affectionately.  Declan gave Sam a quizzical look.
“And thus, The Amazing Sam was born.”
“The Amazing Sam?”  Declan questioned.
“Oh God, this is so embarrassing” Sam chipped in.  “I was ‘that kid’ the geek with his head in books.  When other boys were playing football, I was always, researching.  I got it into my head to read up about Escapology.  Mum bought me a Houdini magic set, but…  I only wanted the rope and handcuffs,” Sam admitted.
Declan and Oliver burst out laughing.  Sam rested his chin on his hand, “I knew you would laugh” He huffed.

Fantasies - we all have them.
For some it’s their dream job; others want the wedding, the 2.5 kids, the white picket fence.
My fantasies are a bit more...depraved.
Dark and sinful, they have destroyed relationships and my livelihood, yet I still submit to them like a slave.

Sex.
For most, it’s a natural expression of love, caring, or lust.
But there are those of us who can’t stop once we’ve had a taste.
Those of us who don’t want to.
And the shame of that never-ending cycle will eat us alive...

My name is Evan James, and I am a sex addict.

Imperfect Harmony by Jay Northcote

BLURB

Imperfect harmony can still be beautiful…

John Fletcher, a former musician, is stuck in limbo after losing his long-term partner two years ago. He’s shut himself off from everything that reminds him of what he’s lost. When his neighbour persuades him to join the local community choir, John rediscovers his love of music and finds a reason to start living again.

Rhys Callington, the talented and charismatic choir leader, captures John’s attention from the first moment they meet. He appears to be the polar opposite of John: young, vibrant, and full of life. But Rhys has darkness in his own past that is holding him back from following his dreams.

Despite the nineteen-year age gap, the two men grow close and a fragile relationship blossoms. Ghosts of the past and insecurities about the future threaten their newfound happiness. If they’re going to harmonise in life and love as they do in their music, they’ll need to start following the same score.

REVIEW

I have to admit, I'm making this book more personal to me. As if Jay wrote this for me.
The grieving, the losing someone named David. The thing with hard to move on, that not everyone will understand.
I do.
Because death sucks.

"Death sucked, losing people sucked. It was as simple as that."

It's like robbed you on the spot when you want to pay the cashier for your purchases. And all you can do is sad and angry. At first, you don't know what to do without it.
Jay made a better analogy about this kind of losing someone .

""It's as if you had a story and it was never finished. You never got to know the ending because a whole fucking chunk of the pages have been torn out of the back of the book. And it's so unfair""

So it what was happened with John and Rhys. Moving on when you're still grieving is never easy. Falling for another person while all you wanted is your dead partner's back, even harder.

""It's crap that you have to go on without him. It never goes away, even when it gets better... it never stops hurting completely""

I think this is what Jay's wants to tell us about the book. It;s about acceptance, moving on, and try to adjust with a new life and let someone else 'in'. It was never easy, but when you're finally met the right person, you need to embrace it, instead pushing it away.
That was what John's trying to do to Rhys, insecurity about the age differences and the doubt about their future together, haunted him. Even David's ghost keeps telling him to go on without him.

""You have to go on without me"

I'm glad that Rhys, lots younger than John in age, is way more mature than him. He's easily let his feeling for John developing, and waited for John to realized, it's worth it.
The same interest in music, probably is the best part that make them attracted to each other. Thing with music is, I need more of Rhys to explore his ability to sing at the club, or a little concert, maybe?
Or Jay,probably, I hope, saved it for a novella. I need more Rhys and John in the future !
Thanks for the story Jay Northcote.

REVIEW

From The moment I read the first Spencer Cohen book #1 and ‘met’ Spencer and Andrew, I knew that this book will stay with me forever and ever and ever. How’s the chance you’ll meet your half-soul in a ‘fake boyfriend’ status to get your walked out fiancée’s back? Andrew has all the luck the first day he met Spencer. The lumberjack handsome Australian’s who’s living in L.A, pretended to be his boyfriend, and Andrew wasn’t sure if he wanted Eli’s back to him, or not, ever since. Then their journey begun.;

This series seems like a fluffy mushy sweet read outside, but then I read this, and I found some deep thoughts about a kid’s soul (little Spencer and Archie) whose seek for their parent’s unconditional love. I found that the way Andrew loves Spencer is more ‘unconditional’ that his own parents, not to mention Andrew’s parents, and Spencer’s family he chosen himself, his friends.

I cried over some ‘touchy moments’, the moment Spencer ‘felt’ like he lost Andrew for Eli, the moment how’s the whole family panicked over Spencer’s anaphylactic shock, the moment Spencer knew he lost Archie (because he has no one to talk to), the moment Andrew drew an elephant because it reminds him of Spencer, the moment Andrew said ‘I love you’…and the best moment in the plane when all of the sudden Spencer told Andrew ‘I love you’.  So many precious moments, that made a girl in me wanted my very own Andrew.
Oh, don’t mention that shy, geeky, sweet Andrew ‘outside’, is ‘the bossy Andrew’ ‘inside’… Ahem !
And all the play with magazines cover, I found it adorable, and very genuine.  And I hope Jeff wouldn’t that I quote this…

Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah

Overall, this has become one of my favorite series (another one from Nic. Duh.), Andrew and Spencer are easily let me love them. Unconditionally.
Highly recommended !

Here are some of my favorite quotes :
“We are. This is the first course. Then we cook, then you r** me, then you f*** me.” Oh, yeah. Bossy Andrew was back. His words went straight to my c***. “Have I ever told you that it turns me on when you say filthy things like that?”

...He chuckled. “Andrew’s favourite—” I used his chest as a buzzer again. “Bzzzz. What is sex and food? And music and conversation, but mostly sex and food.” He laughed, vibrating against my chest. “Correct.” “I’m good at this game.” Andrew snorted before he gave another clue. “Andrew said we’d be doing this tonight.” “Bzzzz.” I buzzered him again.“What is r****** and f******?”

"But then you came along, and I don’t want to be just me anymore. I want to hang out with you all the time, but we shouldn’t do that should we? Because if you decide to not be with me anymore, I’m not sure I’d know what to do, and that scares me. It’s been just me for so long, and I knew how to deal with that. But if I had to be just me now, I’m not sure I could.”

...I swore to myself years ago we would never do. And that was fall in love. Yet there he slept on a fold-up bed in my hospital room. And I was in love with him.

“My home is in LA. With Emilio and Lola, and there’s this pretty amazing guy I’m seeing. He’s on the cover of The World’s Most Incredible Boyfriends and everything.” He fought a smile. “Is he now?” “Yep. And the Sexiest Man Alive, Cockness Monster edition. It was a sell-out, just flew off the shelves.”

...“I love you. Andrew Landon, I am in love with you. I have been in love with you since that time at my place when I asked you to pick an album to play, and out of all of my vinyl collection, you picked Jeff Buckley’s ‘Hallelujah.’ I just haven’t been able to tell you, until now. You healed something inside me.”

She loves writing and spends far too much time doing it, but wouldn’t have it any other way.   She is many things: a mother, a wife, a sister, a writer. She has pretty, pretty boys who live in her head, who don’t let her sleep at night unless she gives them life with words.   She likes it when they do dirty, dirty things… but likes it even more when they fall in love.   She used to think having people in her head talking to her was weird, until one day she happened across other writers who told her it was normal.   She’s been writing ever since…
