ARC REVIEW : Perfect (Soulmates #4) by Felice Stevens

38092441

Despite multiple degrees and business success, in his heart Jeremy Strauss feels he’s never measured up. While he hasn’t lacked for men or women to share his bed, Jeremy has yet to find someone who sees beyond his muscles and perfect smile. Taking it slow with a lover isn’t how he operates, but something about the shy accountant he rescues in a snowstorm makes him want this time to be different. So what if Blake drops little comments here and there about Jeremy’s pretty face? Their relationship is perfect.

Or is it?

Lonely most of his life, Blake Myers is as careful with his heart as he is with a balance sheet. The last thing he expects is for a man like Jeremy to fall for him, and he can't help but wait for the bubble to burst on their relationship. When the stress of a professional crisis turns personal, Blake sees the perfect relationship he and Jeremy have built start to crumble. Caught in an ever-tightening web of lies, rather than wait for Jeremy to leave him, Blake breaks it off and vanishes.

Perfection is an illusion.

Jeremy doesn’t know which way to turn and for the first time in his life, he’s lost and uncertain. Believing he’s no longer the man Jeremy needs, Blake sinks deeper into despair. Both men struggle with secrets, lies, and hurtful memories until they are forced to look inside their hearts and learn the truth—that love is perfectly imperfect

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“I don’t feel like me anymore. I’m not the same person. I don’t know who I am anymore.”
“I do,” “You’re mine. And I love you. I don’t know how to unlove you.”

The first time around when I met Jeremy in Noah and Oren's story One Call Away, I'd just knew that I need Jeremy's story to be told. Because Jeremy is going to be perfect and I fell in love with Jeremy back then. And I wasn't wrong.
I always knew that Jeremy had something to tell. About his own struggled with his love affair with Blake.

Once again, Felice Stevens broke my heart, and made me cry and held my breath.
I won't bore you with the story, because you need to read this word by word. This is a beautiful second chance of love between Jeremy and Blake. And Felice never disappoint me. Ever.
This just written so beautifully and it warmed my heart, how perfect Jeremy is for Blake. While Blake is having self conscious and fragile with his own inner demons, Jeremy became his rock and happy place.

Jeremy and Blake, when it comes to sexy times, they won't disappoint you. And Blake, the shy Blake, he has a kink when it comes to Jeremy. Semi public sex, anyone? Who thought that shy Blake has such naughty mind?

“Anyone across the street could see you if they looked up. Or the people in the building directly across. But you like that. I know you do.”
He spit on his thumb and circled Blake’s tight hole, hearing him gasp. “You get off on it.”
“Please,” Blake gasped. “Do it.”“Not so fast, baby. I want you begging for it. Want them to hear you scream for my dick all the way across the street.”

But again , is hot sexy kinky sex enough to make their relationship strong?

""Nothing and no one s perfect. There's always a tiny imperfection, a flaw that starts as something invisible to the naked eye but is so profound that one day the beautiful surface shatters to reveal the ugliness at the core"""

But is Jeremy's love enough to make him stay and believe he's the one that Jeremy need? Not his job, not his perfection, just him, just Blake the person.
I'm glad that Jeremy is not an easy to give up of his dreams, and he wanted Blake and he must have Blake, no matter what.

"You said I had something of yours?"
"Yeah, my heart. Since you've been gone, I can't find it anywhere. I figure you took it with you"

I'm still recovering from a hangover Jeremy and Blake, I'm on my second read now.
Just let you know, this book is a 'must read', or you'll missing out the meaning of unconditional love, acceptance and second chance love affair.
One of the most beautiful book I have ever read this year. Blake and Jeremy made me cry, angry, and happy at the same time. And they deserved their HEA.
Jeremy and Blake were easily become my favorite. I'm sure for a very long time.
Well done, Felice!

I loved Jeremy and Blake. I don't know how to unlove them.

Title: Only You
Author: Melanie Harlow
Publishing Date: March 12th

Synopsis

Nate Pearson is ridiculously handsome and wears the hell out of a suit and tie, but I’ve seen the parade of beautiful women leaving his apartment across the hall—a different one every time—and I want no part of it. When it comes to romance, I’m looking for something real, something that will last: the happily ever after.
As a divorce attorney, he loves to tell me there’s no such thing.
As a wedding planner, I choose to disagree.
We disagree on almost everything, in fact. Everything except James Bond. The only time we really get along is when we’re watching 007 flicks together, and I’ll admit—he has rescued me from a disaster or five. So when one of the baton twirlers from his parade leaves a baby girl at his door with a note that says “I’ll come back for her” and he begs me for help, I can’t turn him down.
But it’s a mistake.
Because watching him with his daughter, I start to see another side of Nate, a side that has my breath coming faster, my body craving his, my heart longing for him to change his mind about love and tell me there’s a chance for us.
I don’t want to be just another girl leaving his apartment in the morning.
I want to be the one he asks to stay.

That’s what Robert Antonio Bianchi was telling himself, anyway.

No excuse, except for his lonely heart, a pitcher of margaritas, four Bitter Bitches, and the apparent need to confess all his weaknesses to the two men he knew would bring him nothing but trouble.
But trouble was nothing new.
Just ask his crazy sisters or any of his friends, and they’d be the first to tell you:

REVIEW : Taxes and Tardis (A Mind is a Sexy Thing) by N.R. Walker

Brent Kelly is a laid-back tradesman whose only concerns are drinks with friends and which man to bed next. In need of a new accountant to sort out his nightmarish shoebox of tax receipts, he's referred to Logan Willis. He doesn't expect to be intrigued by the science fiction-loving, geeky guy with dark-rimmed glasses and a TARDIS-blue shirt. So his fascination with the soft-spoken Englishman surprises him, and their mutual attraction is completely unexpected. He most certainly never expects to fall in love. One a jock and the other a geek, both men know the differences between them are vast and could cause problems. But in this opposites-attract erotic drama, maybe it's the differences between them that make staying together worth the fight.

"If anyone here has a problem with us, with this -" I held up our joined hands. "- they can speak to me about it."

I never watched Dr. Who but I'm deliberately read this book a few times. This was one of N.R. Walker early book and I'm loving it every time I revisit this book.
Can we agree that Walker is one of those author that we hopelessly crave?
Brent and Logan were so right for each other and while the cute and the adorable mingled together, they could be the hottest!
Sure they're smart and all, but let go their geeky attitude, and they're burning the house with the hotness!
I enjoyed this book more I than I can express, this is one of my 'comfort read' that makes me keep coming back. This book is hard to forget. One of those rare books out there.
Recommended.

ARC REVIEW : Captive Hearts (Deviant Hearts, #1) by A.E. Ryecart

38596247

“Too young, too blond, too skinny. Billy Grace was everything my head told me I didn’t want. Too bad my heart had other ideas.”

When Dashiell Slater uses his fists to stop a vicious assault, the last thing he expects is to be offered a job as reward for being a Good Samaritan. Out of work and short of cash, all he has to do is chauffeur Billy around. It’s easy money so saying yes should be a no-brainer. And if the offer’s not quite legal, so what? Dashiell’s smart and savvy, and knows how the world works. But there are strings attached, and Dashiell doesn’t want to get entangled. He’s ready to say no and walk away – until he sees the fear, despair and fathomless sadness in Billy’s jade-green eyes.

“He was everything I wanted, but couldn’t have. What was the use in dreaming when I was already bought and paid for, the property of another man?”

Billy’s life is a daily round of fear and abuse. One wrong word or one wrong look can mean a beating, or worse. Dashiell’s everything Billy’s heart craves – a man who’ll love and protect him, who’ll keep him safe and catch him when he falls. But Billy can’t have what he yearns for, because to give in to his heart means breaking a promise he’s vowed to keep at all costs.

A soul-searing kiss, a whispered promise, and the chance of a future together is there for the taking. But life is never that simple and danger surrounds them at every turn. Imprisoned by devotion, duty and obligation, Billy’s heart is captive, but can falling for Dashiell finally set it free?

* 4,5 stars*

..."On a stony beach, where a sleeping Billy Grace snuggled into me, I knew I’d always remember that day because it was the day my life changed.

This is not an easy book to read. There are so many things broke my heart, especially when it comes to what's Billy suffered for Frankie. Dashiell came didn't soon enough IMO. But somehow, they made it work. I never though that at some point, I didn't mind that Billy slept with Dashiell when he's still in Frankie's dirty hands. I thought, cheating on Frankie is a mandatory, you know. Billy's just needed that, he needed Dashiell. Dashiell is his happy place, someone he can lean on to. A love he found in the middle of his battered heart and boy (literally).

... "I didn’t know when I’d fallen in love with Dashiell, I just had. I used to dream about falling in love and imagined the big, public declarations, fireworks exploding, and shooting stars racing across the sky. I’d even thought there’d be unicorns jumping over rainbows. What I’d never imagined was that I’d just know, kind of all quietly and without any fanfare."

It hurt me every time Billy had to come to Frankie and just surrendered, I hated that.
But this story consumed me, and lately, it's a rare thing with some books I read this year.
I'm captivated by Captive Hearts, by Billy and Dashiell.

..."His voice was quiet, and shaking, and he looked up at me with the saddest eyes I'd ever seen. But he didn't flinch. He was summoning all the strength and bravery he had, even though it was breaking both our hearts. I gave him the only answer I could. I kissed him."

This was a wonderful read, though my hart was broken and made me cry over what Billy had been through. I'm glad Dashiell was there to protect him. I'm finally close this book with a happy sigh.
This is book one of the series, I think Lee would be in book two. And I'll make sure I'll read the second book.

RELEASE BLITZ AND ARC REVIEW : Pretty in Pink (Housemates, #6) by Jay Northcote

Title: Pretty in Pink
Author: Jay Northcote
Publisher: Jaybird Press (self published)
Length: 58,000 words approx
Genre: Contemporary m/m romance/erotica, bisexual, new adult
Cover Artist: Garrett Leigh
Release Date: Wednesday 21st February 2018
Series info: Housemates #6

The Housemates Series is a collection of standalone stories set around a student house in Britain. Each book focuses on new characters, with themes of self-discovery and sexual awakening.

Blurb

Ryan isn’t looking for a relationship with a guy—and Johnny isn’t looking for a relationship at all.

Ryan’s always been attracted to tall, leggy blondes—normally of the female variety. When Johnny catches his eye at a party, Ryan’s interest is piqued even though he’s never been with a guy before. The attraction is mutual, and the amazing night that follows opens Ryan’s eyes to his bisexuality.

Experience has taught Johnny that love hurts. Staying single is safer, and there’s no need for complicated relationships when hooking up is easy. When he moves in next door to Ryan, they’re both interested in picking up where they left off, and it seems like an ideal arrangement: convenient, mutually satisfying, and with no strings attached.

Despite their best intentions to keep things casual, they develop an emotional connection alongside the physical one. Both begin to want more from the relationship but are afraid to admit it. If they’re going to work things out, they need to start being honest—first with themselves, and then with each other.

Although this book is part of the Housemates series, it has new main characters, a satisfying happy ending, and can be read as a standalone.

REVIEW

Pretty in Pink (Housemates, #6)Pretty in Pink by Jay Northcote
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The problem with hiding your feeling and lacking of communication, leads to stupid conclusion and unnecessary heartache. Saying that you just wanted a hookup instead of admitted that you wanted more, is only brings you assumption, and affected the pain in your heart. Am I right, or right?
While I'm glad the relationship between Johnny and Ryan went well, and the sex was freaking hot to the level zero to one hundred in a second, they spent the whole 'just a hookup and no strings' too seriously. And that leads to a disappointment on my side.
I couldn't blame Johnny or Ryan on that matter, they're both had a stake on what they're created.
If only, they're 'talk', there won't be a small bit of a heartache and guilty feeling after what happened on chapter 12.

But as much as I disliked what happened then, I always enjoying Jay's writing style, because, British! I always love it when the Brits tells the story. And Jay is one of my favorite Brits :)
Besides, this romance between Johnny and Ryan based of their early 'agreement', 'just a hookup and no strings'.
The ending was a HFN, but I have a good feeling about them, when parents comes to the picture, I'm pretty sure they're for the long haul.

I hope this series wouldn't be ended here, some guys still need their stories to tell.
