ARC REVIEW : Tied Up in Knots (Marshals #3) by Mary Calmes
BLURB
Miro Jones is living the life: he’s got his exciting, fulfilling job as a US deputy marshal, his gorgeous Greystone in suburban Chicago, his beloved adopted family, and most importantly, the man who captured his heart, Ian Doyle. Problem is, Ian isn’t just his partner at work—Ian’s a soldier through and through. That commitment takes him away from Miro, unexpectedly and often, and it’s casting a shadow over what could be everything Miro could ever dream of.
Work isn’t the same without Ian. Home isn’t the same, either, and Miro’s having to face his fears alone… how to keep it together at the office, how to survive looming threats from the past, and worst of all, how to keep living without Ian’s rock-solid presence at his side. His life is tied up in knots, but what if unknotting them requires something more permanent? What would that mean for him and Ian? Miro’s stuck between two bad choices, and sometimes the only way to get out of the knot is to hold tight to your lifeline and pull.

*SPOILER ALERT!*
ARC review...
*I'm enamored with Ian and Miro!*
This book !
This has ALL the feeling that need to be said and done. Both by Ian and Miro. Everything!
The internal battle was almost killing me. Damn, I cried 'hearing' Miro's 'internal voices', how he longed for Ian to settle down, and how much Ian wanted to be always with Miro (he didn't say it out loud of course), but Mary did a great job to 'described' the feeling.
It was perfection!
I was preparing myself to 'experience' something like the previous book, but this one was actually much more lighter than book two, that's a relieved, because the 'actual story' was about Ian and Miro and how they cope with their insecurity about their relationship, while Ian was away from home.
There were some unexpected scenes going on between Miro and his long term tormentor, and that alone left me smiling...hell if this one won't make you smile...It's beyond me...
I dunno, I just can't get that scene out of my head for a very long time :)
Well at least, the villain was willing to reformed ... for just one kiss. What? Yeah. A kiss.
No, don't worry about cheating, it's just Miro under pressure...trust me.
I'm still hungover this book, probably with much better words to tell you, how perfect this book was for me.
This is weekend, so, I'm ended with re-reading. Missed Miro and Ian and Chickie already !
Highly recommended!

REVIEW
Marriage of Inconvenience by M.J. O'Shea
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Hollywood. It's life and people around it.
I'm not a fan.
But it's always interesting reading and watching the drama about Hollywood.
I felt sorry for Kerry for having that kind of life, to protect Jericho's reputation for being outed as gay.
Not that it was forbidden, but people who knows him as a ladies man of Hollywood, not so much fun.
The story must have been made. And Kerry was in the middle and he can't say no.
Good thing is he's also gay and had a crush on Jericho for a while. But he didn't know 'the real' Jericho.
But whatever he felt for Jericho after the 'engagement' he must doing it, for the sake of his job.
And Jericho? Well, actually he's being a douche and I didn't like him, for treating Kerry that way.
I also can't feel any strong chemistry between the two MCs, too bad.
The story has a potential to be so much fun. I don't know, maybe it's just me.
Or Jericho.
Overall, it was just an okay read for me, not much to tell. I still don't believe that Jericho and Kerry will be last. The ending was kinda in a gray area.
And I wonder where's 'married' came from, there's only 'engagement' and no ' marriage '.
Probably the 'plan' :)

ARC REVIEW : Tart and Sweet (Candy Man #4) by Amy Lane
BLURB
In the Army, Robbie Chambers turned on his lover out of fear—and he hasn’t been able to live with himself since. Now he’s out of the Army but still trapped in the closet that brought on his most cowardly moment, and he starts to think he’ll never be able to fight his way free.
Until he sees Cy McVeigh. Beautiful and uninhibited, Cy is dancing on the boardwalk at Old Sac for no other reason than the moment called for it. Robbie not only joins in the dance but is smitten from the very beginning.
However, Robbie still has old business to clear up, and when he helps out a kid in need and comes face-to-face with the man he betrayed, he’s forced to come clean with himself. He can’t redeem his mistake if he’s still locked into his old patterns, and he won’t ever be worthy of Cy if he can’t earn Adam’s forgiveness. He’s going to need all the help he can get from the people at Candy Heaven in order to make things right with his past so he can have a future with Cy.
REVIEW
Tart and Sweet by Amy Lane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Remember 'the bad guy' who broke Adam's heart two years ago in the army? Robbie? The one that came to Darrin and Ezra's vision? Yeah that guy.
The problem is, Robbie is not a bad guy. Sigh. He was afraid and had been a coward to admit to the world who he really is.
You know DADT is still 'there'. Too bad. It breaks too many heart. Including Adam's heart. Glad he finally found Finn, and the true love is there !
There's no doubt that Finn is Adam's true love, as Ezra and Miguel and Rico and Derek. The guys!
Now back to Robbie.
After one dance with the 'street dancer', Cyril, and broke up with 'girlfriend', the actual story begun.
There one thing Robbie owed Adam from their past life, forgiveness.
But, Adam is Adam, a big muscle giant shy Adam. Under protection of Finn and the whole bunch of Candy Heaven's family. But somehow, Finn is still Finn. He actually met Robbie before Adam.
Adam still thanked Robbie for being a 'hero', because, he helped Finn, his angel and everything.
So, forgiveness is easy. But not so much with Finn, his outraged was EPIC!
You know, Finn being Finn, overly dramatic for everything. But Adam, sigh...Finn is all he need.
So, Robbie need to stay away from them for a while.
Not by long, because Cy and Robbie were an item ever since the first met.
This one is definitely has a strong 'love at first sight' vibes.
But as much as I wanted to believe in Robbie and Cy, there's something's missing, but ignore that. Because this book is not just about Cy and Robbie , but family, family, family.
Actually, I really liked Robbie's father 'reaction' after Robbie's speech, it was kinda cute. Ha!
There's something touched my curiosity about who's Ro guy in Darrin's life, you know. They're probably have their own story, but I don't think Amy would write about them (I know the reason. Shh.)
Overall,I really liked this one. Not as much as I loved Adam and Finn's story (my favorite, of course).
This is entertaining, funny as usual, family (bunch of them), and so much love.
I'm gonna miss these guys so much ! Well done, Amy!

Keeping Karma by Tory Temple
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I read the revised edition.
I liked the idea of animals, pets, and vets as the MC.
But I need to learn my lessons, not every books with pets are cute. Sometimes, what's bothering me is not the pet, but the MCs. Well, I guess they're trying to be cute, but still.
I didn't 'see' any strong chemistry between the two MC, except, they're having sex 'all the time'. Including in public places, that you'll be easily get caught, or busted.
Like, all the time'. And too much sex in a book, was kinda bored me fast.
There's no conflict between the two MC, Dylan was being a very understanding boyfriend for Alex.
They're moved in together after like, a few dates? It's too easy, I think.
I'm very disappointed that I can't like the story like I wanted to be.
I need a better pets stories :(

ABOUT TORY TEMPLE
I live in southern California, the land of no seasons. (Is wind a season?) I live with three dogs, two cats, and some tortoises. I'm married to a firefighter, which is great in the sense that some nights I get the TV all to myself, but not so great in the sense that some nights I have to figure out what to do when the washer starts leaking. (Or when there's a bat in the house, which is a thing that happened when he was working.)

Taylor Maid by Tara Lain
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I'm in Tara Lain's vibes.
I'm enjoying this one more than I expected. Funny how author's can 'read' what's on your mind and you don't even know each other in real life.
I had this story in my head for a while, but, you know, I can't write (poor me).
So, when I read this, I really enjoyed the story. It was funny, fluffy and cheesy, with a little pinch at the end of the book (I've anticipated this from Tara, she's a ending torturer all the time).
Kinda story I enjoyed when I'm so relax and alone, at home.
This is a definite Harlequiny story, all the dreams come true, you know.
So, if you're not into this kind of story, this one's not for you.
But this is my comfort read, and recommended for you who's seek for light, fluffy read.
Refreshing, like a lemon juice :)

ARC REVIEW : Lord of a Thousand Steps (Love in Laguna #4)
BLURB
To architecture student Ian Carney, family means everything. Taken in by his brother, Jim, when his father threw him out at eighteen for being gay, Ian yearns to create his own family with his boyfriend, Rico. But Rico’s in Mexico caring for a sick father, Ian hasn’t had sex in a month and a half, and his gorgeous boss, Braden Lord, CEO of the architectural firm Ian interns for, is looking better and better.
Braden’s life is chaos. Just out of the closet and going through an ugly divorce from his wife of fifteen years who’s trying to take custody of his two children, he desperately resolves not to succumb to a completely inappropriate attraction to Ian—even though his kids adore both the man and his crazy cat.
When Rico proves to be a snake in the grass and Ian exercises his powers of seduction, what starts as a “friends with benefits” fling turns into real life real fast. Can Ian give up his romantic dreams for an “old guy” who didn’t come out until he carried a mountain of baggage? It’ll only take a thousand steps.
REVIEW
I finished this book with a happy smile in my face.
What a relieved! Along with Billy and Shaz's book, this one has become my favorite in the series.
I have met Ian Carney in Jim and Ken's story and wondered if Ian will have his own book with Rico?
Well he is. But Rico, the nice guy, turned up as a disappointment after there years of relationship with Ian. Then Ian met his new boss, Braden Lord. I didn't mind. At all.
Because Braden has a complete package that Ian longed to have. A family.
We knew Ian's story before, with his parents, and how Jim took him and Anderson Cooper (Um, yes...him. I mean the cat) into his home and live with him and Ken from that moment on.
But Ian still craved his own family he thought he will have with Rico, the asshole.
No.
Instead, he became seriously involved with his boss's boss boss boss life after all. With Anderson and two kids in tow, the life that he dreamed for, for so long. But it's not that easy it seemed.
There's some drama of course, but not over the top like Jim and Ken's story. That alone made me happy. The divorce, the sneaking and gotten caught, the Rico thing, the work. But I also met again with a determined Mama-san and her wedding plan for Jim and Ken.
The interaction between Mirielle and Anderson made me smile even laugh all the time. I really enjoying this book. Braden have great kids with him.
There's also tears here and there. I cried a bit after Ian's speech at the wedding ceremony. Pictured how lonely he was before he lived with his brother.
But he still need his own family.
This is a story, mostly about family. And I'm glad I read this book first, and can't wait for another stories from this series. Jo-Jo, maybe?
Overall, I loved this book. If you loved Billy and Shaz story, you'll definitely adore this one.
Highly recommended.

Wrenches, Regrets, And Reality Checks (Grease Monkeys Inc.) by L.A. Witt
BLURB
2nd Edition
When Reggie’s garage became part of a popular reality show, business went through the roof. And he supposes having his shop in the black is a fair trade for jumping through the network’s hoops.
As the show’s lowest-ranking producer, Wes is tasked with proposing a new spin-off show to Reggie. The sexy mechanic makes him sweat on a normal day, but this time, Wes is holding cards he can’t show. With execs breathing down his neck, he’s expected to pitch a show Reggie will never agree to do, even if his rejection puts his existing show on the line.
The network is counting on Reggie refusing to sign. But they’re not counting on their messenger falling for the man they’re trying to fire.
REVIEW
I read the second edition.
This is a part of the series I came to really like, because, mechanics !
But as much as I like LA Witt, the ending didn't give me satisfaction. It was nearly a HFN, but not even a HFN, just promises. It ended all of a sudden after 'that night'. And I'm still pissed.
But overall (except for the ending), this has a vibes of the series, even though I have no idea why the network wanted Reggie out in a first place. I guess, rating? But why Reggie, not the whole crew?
Just cut off the production and done. But, whatever.
I'll probably will have the answer in the next book of this series. And I'll definitely read it.
This one is short, same as the other two earlier, kinda entertaining, especially the heat factor :)
Worth to try.

ARC review : The Senator's Secret by K.C. Wells
BLURB
Politics, puppy dogs, and passion, oh my!
When his Republican opponent outs him with a photo in a Facebook post, Senator Samuel Dalton doesn’t have many options open to him. It doesn’t matter that the photo is totally innocent. He has no choice but to come clean… until his staff suggest putting a spin on it that leaves Sam reeling.
Sure, he’ll end up with a lot of sympathy, not to mention the possibility of more voters from the LGBT community, but it still seems a pretty drastic solution.
Now all they have to do is persuade Gary, the other man in the photo, to play along. It sounds so easy: convince the constituents of North Carolina that he and Sam are engaged.
No big deal, except for the fact that they’ve only just met….

The Senator's Secret by K.C. Wells

REVIEW
...I loved Sam and Gary ! This book was so much fun !...
Met outside the office when they're sneaking for a smoke Gary and Sam didn't know that one 'congratulation hug' can be their union.
Gary is only working in telemarketing division at Sam's campaign office for running a campaign as Senator, while waiting for his class to be a Vet.
But one photo on Facebook change their life forever.
This is an almost no angst cinderfella story with a Senator campaign as a background.
How many gay people is still virgin at age 33? Not much. But Sam was a virgin, because, shy, politics and all.
Outed by his rival in a campaign, finally was kind of blessing in disguise for Sam. He met Gary, someone he will never look at if they're not out for smoke that day.
I liked it how the author didn't rush the sex.
Virgin, everyone.
I didn't realized there's no sex after 70%, they're only shared kisses...and sex only happened once, at 84%. Almost feels like a clean romance, almost. But the sex is worth waiting for, it was sexy and full of love between the two MCs. I didn't mind waiting.
This is the story about finding what you truly wants in the middle of ambition, what's truly your intention in life. About family and priorities.
And there's 'Dinky'! OMG this dog...he's so cute and adorable...and why did no one wanted to adopt him before? You'll find why, and it's hilarious!
I'm a sucker of a great Epilogue, and I can say, I'm satisfied, because...Dinky !

Audible (Narrator : Tyler Stevens)
The voice, damn great ! Tyler Stevens is perfect for this book.
This is how Amy Lane roll, either the book is crazy sad with crazy twist, or crazy funny and fluffy! Name it, you'll get both.
And lots of her MCs are NOT perfect. They're not handsome, clumsy, having disabilities, nerd....just...you know... 'human'.
This story is no exceptional. Will with his square face, nerd, too tall. While Kenny is just an average 'not too tall' and just found out that his living in boyfriend having sex with someone else. Great.
The meeting between Kenny and Will, let's say, they will never forget it forever.
This book is freaking funny, sweet, so down to earth. And we can imagine it's what happen in real life. I still believe in love at first sight. Although Will didn't understand what it is, not until re realized that he's falling in love with Kenny at a first sight....months later. Ouch !
Thing is, Kenny also didn't realized that. Not until he tried to be 'friends with Will forever and didn't want to ruin their friendship' with trying to date someone, and Will didn't let him.
Oh well...there guys were just too clueless about their feelings, or need some good communication skills. Either of those.
This is fluffy, but full of life lesson. There's when near the ending, I was crying. Yep. Cry.
The ending though...It was EPIC!
I have no idea why I keep waiting to read this, glad I can finally met Kenny and Will. In my eyes, they're PERFECT!

Kee Smith isn’t sure who he is anymore. He knows who he used to be—the ignored gay son who chose a blue-collar job just because no one expected it, the submissive bottom who enjoyed large, masculine jocks who put him in his place, the sleek, fashionable twink who partied all night. But after his ex-boyfriend hit Kee and called him names, Kee retired from the social scene.
Back after a year’s hiatus, Kee still doesn’t know where he fits. His friends say he’s a twunk—a twink who put on muscle and turned into a hunk—but Kee is searching for somewhere to belong. Instead of going back to his usual type, Kee hooks up with twink Tate Stevens—a fashion-industry professional who works the image hard. It proves to be the best decision he’s ever made, and not just because he’s starting to regain his sexual confidence.
With Tate, Kee can open up about his fears and confusion without ridicule. Tate has his own fears about putting on weight and getting old. It will take work to make a relationship of opposites succeed, but they begin to realize the compromises will be worth it if they can be together.
REVIEW
New words invention by Jamie Bell !
I know, I know, this is Kee and Tate's story, but I can't help myself when Renae Kaye put my Jay in the picture and he's still as hilarious with his motor mouth and awesome as he ever be !
If you haven't read Jay and Liam's story, well, read them, like right now ! Go ! Shoo !
Okay. So Kee is Jay's friend and he'd been missing for a whole year after things with his a**hole ex.
But now, he's ready and the first day of his social life is Jamie *freakin' Bell in the picture.
And Tate, the dancing guy ! Yup, there's a lot of dancing (with heels!) and steamy and funny.
It's a low angst , feel good and lots and lots of fun between Kee and Tate. And finding who you really are what your really want in your life.
And you'll find the new invention of the word twink.
Twunk = when you're an ex-twink and you're a hunk now.
Twank = when you're not a twink any longer, you know, you can't be a twink after 30, right?
This book gave me lot of fun and makes me smile and happy.
Tate and Kee are awesome together, and there's a bonus chapter, Jamie Bell's POV!
What's not to love?
This book can be read as stand alone of course, but I suggest you to read Loving Jay first to get to know Jay and Liam, they're awesome !

It comes as a surprise when the chef turns out to be the owner of a place he knows—and has reviewed—and it puts James in a sticky situation. So he might have to omit some pertinent information to make it work… at least for now.
REVIEW
I loved the idea of a chef and a food critics as a main characters for the story, loved the cover as well.
It was good in the beginning of the story where Bastien got so mad after James wrote a review, a bad review of his restaurant.
Their real first meeting was also interesting and I was hoping that I can get more to see what's going to happen with the two guys.
And I've got so many cooking lessons (not that I'm complained), but with so many cooking and dining and nothing's really happened with their 'instant relationship', I felt bored easily. And the food didn't appealed me anymore.
The sex parts was hot. That's why I keep reading this and finished the story.
There's no angst after Bastien found out who James really are. There's some silent moments and then James cooked for him instead of talking (that's probably how chefs saying they're sorry though), and then Bastien forgave him. The end.
If you're a cook or chef or you're into this kind of story, you'll probably going to love this one. Give it a try, and let's see, and I hope you'll enjoy the story.
And there's plenty of food and cooking tricks, what's not to love?
